    Hello,

Yes, the new Bitdefender is fully compatible with Windows 8 and the ELAM technology.

We have a dedicated driver for this called bdelam.sys that will start the scanning process when the operating system starts.

You have all the details about this feature over here:

    Thank you!

Hi Christian...I'm glad to hear that the New BD will support Elam Technology. I'm very impressed with how glitch free the New BD seems to be . Although not all user suggestions have been incorporated into the new product, I see that you have brought back the ability to schedule scans and I'm sure this will be welcomed by many. Personally, the Autoscan works quite well for me. Just one question though. Why, in light of this new release, would we need a standalone product for W8. I'm a little confused on that one. Nevertheless, congratulations on what seems to be an outstanding product.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I would recommend reading this announcement for better understanding why we have a separate product, especially for Windows 8.
