Td Ameritrade Trade Architect Streaming Blocked

[Edit: Sorry, I meant to post this in the Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition section]

I recently installed Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition (1.0.18.1047) on Windows 8 to try it out.

After doing so, my TD Ameritrade Trade Architect streaming data is blocked, when it was working fine before the Bitdefender installation.

I spoke with TD tech support, and they said they've had an issue on and off with Bitdefender products over the years. They said Trade Architect uses port 843 for streaming data and Bitdefender seems to lock things down too well by assuming that this is malware of some sort.

According to http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...35498&st=20 the issue was fixed with the 4/26 release of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013. Was the fix not applied to the latest Free Edition version as well?

Is there a way for me to manually fix the problem, at least temporarily?

    Hello Dave Kratter,

    Welcome to the Bitdefender forums.

Indeed, the fix was delivered only in the classic line because Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition does not include the toolbar that injects as a ****** in all the supported browsers by Traffic Light.

Please apply the steps below and let me know if TD Ameritrade works OK afterwards:

1- Restart the PC in Safe Mode, then access C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Antivirus Free Edition

2- Locate the file httproxy.dll in the above location and rename it (e.g. rename it into httproxy.dll_)

3- Restart Windows normally and check if streaming data works fine

Keep in mind that once you reboot the PC the settings will revert to normal.

I'm looking forward to your response.

    Renaming httproxy.dll worked.

I also found this old topic that suggests adding the HttpIPSkip registry key with 216.105.251.0/24 and 204.58.27.0/24. That suggestion worked as well.
