Hi.

Why update size is so big ?? The program ( Bitdefender Anti-virus ) update is 15-20 MB or more every day

I think that is much.

  • Hello I have the same problem (Bitdefender Total Security 2013) UPDATES usually 12 Mb--BUT this

morning update is HUGE, almost 60 MB (( YES Sixty )).

Why no response to this thread from Bitdefender ?

--I will start a new thread to help find an answer.

  • Hello,

My update today was almost 60 Mb --not typo, that is Sixty megs--

Usually my daily updates are 10 to 12 MB which seems larger than other

    security apps--

    is this within norms?

    1) running BitDefender Total Security 2013

    2) Build : 16.28.0.1789

    3) Win7 Pro, 64bit on custom (Puget) PC.

  • That's too large for an update I suppose. Any news yet? smile2.png

  • I run BD Total Security 2013.

I note that BD appears not to have responded yet to the concerns raised above.

I'm not surprised: I've raised similar concerns directly with Bitdefender, and like the forum members, I haven't received a reply either!

The problem is actually three fold:

    (1) the updates every day are simply enormous (as described in the forum posts)!!

    (2) there seems to be no way to schedule the auto update. As a result, in the auto mode, BD does not wait for a period of system idel, but instead makes the first attempt to update AS THE COMPUTER IS BOOTING. This one inevitably fails of course, but it nevertheless slows and sometimes screws up the boot process!

    (3) As a result, I've turned to manual updating. But this means that I'm either pestered several times a day for updates varying from enormous to pissant (some of which I cancel because I'm in the midst of important work) OR the computer is slowed down trying to swallow the enormous Bitdefender PLUG!

While Bitdefender is a great anti-virus system, it's a daily pain in the ###### (and is not responsive to boot)! As a result, I intend to change my antivirus program as soon as BD expires. <img class=" />

  • Hi Steve, and welcome,

As far as your #2 & 3 points, see if this helps. I know it's not a UI click and tick option, but it gets the job done (I have mine set to update every hour): http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=186142

    Hope this helps :)
