My BitDefender dosen't update to latest version (17.18..). It's stuck to 17.16 and no matter how many times I press the update button it doesn't go to 17.18. It updated twice since yesterday, about 5mb once, and 3mb the other time, but with regular virus database. Am I doing something wrong or is my BitDefender browken?

As far as I know the latest build has only been release in English. So if your version is installed using a different language installer that would be why.

I don't care about the language, I colud have BitDefender in english without any problem...
After purchase and download it just installed in my own language and it's fine, but I would prefer to have an antivirus working well (not blocking trusted pages) rather than have it in localized language.
But, I DO NOT want to uninstall and reinstall the english version, so I will wait to a fix. It only seem strange to me that translation are part of the main engine and not external.0 -

Please right click on the Bitdefender icon located in system tray and from the menu select "Update Now". Reboot the PC if requested, then this issue should be solved.

I updated to Build 17.18.0.808 and it still does not work for me. Still cant get to cPanel or WHM This BLOWS!!!!!!!

I decided to reboot in SAFE MODE and then Deleted the bdtl.dl_ and NOW I can get to cPanel.. Might help others to have this little tip since its not as easy as just Updating the Software in some cases.

Yeah dont get me wrong i was not trying to be a Troll with my question. I just did not see anywhere in this thread that it was solved and the patch was posted to all. Several of the people i work with still cannot gain access to the patch and even after patching still have the same issue. Just disappointing to see something marked as solved and still people having the same issue.0 -

Although it has fixed things for me, i am now dissapointed that the same isn't true in all instances. I was starting to think that I had finally found a company that is on top of things where providing good technical support is concerned. I really hope i havn't made another mistake in buying this software.
I hope it is possible to steer one of the tech guys back to this thread and change it's status untill everybody is up and running again

Thank you for posting back with your results.
Firstly, this area concerns only the new Bitdefender products (2014 edition). If anyone is still using Bitdefender 2013 or older products, please upgrade for free to the latest Bitdefender version. You can find all the information regarding the installation in this article (a video tutorial will guide you through all the steps of the installation process):

Also, as you may notice from the changelog post, the build number 17.18.0.808 is currently available only for the EN-US localization of the installation kit:

Therefore, if your Bitdefender interface is not English, most likely the build number 17.18.0.808 was not released yet for that localization. You may wait until we launch the corresponding build for your kit or you may install now Bitdefender in English. The kits can be found in the above kb.

Never mind, it just updated to 17.18.0.808 and now the problem with cPanel is (finnaly I hope) solved.

Software almost always leave certain installation information in place when you uninstall. Such information is often regsitration info. They do that to prevent people from installing trial version that have say a 15 days trial. So even if the tried uninstalling and installing a fresh copy, it would still know that it was once registered and has now expired. So i would in be inclined in your case to just uninstall and put on the latest version and it should still recognise that you still have a valid license still in place.0 -

I solved that way ...
- Uninstall Bitdefender Total Security 2013
- Rename ..program/Bidefender folder
- Install a new version from http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=46845
Works and my license is ok with the right remaining days.

As of yesterday when I installed an update for Bitdefender 2014, that required a computer restart, I have been unable to access my Web Hosting Management interface and my Control Panel (I own a dedicated server). Everytime I try to enter for example> example.com/whm IE reports a "page not found" message; Chrome reports: "The webpage at http://www.example:2086/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error code: ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED"; and Firefox reports: "Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
Their tech support reported the server was working correctly (in fact i was able to access WHM and Cpanel from my cellphone, so they suggested that I reboot my computer and check my computer antivirus.
So, I first rebooted my computer to discard a networking issue, but the problem persisted. Then, I uninstalled Bitdefender and rebooted a second time. I was able then to access WHM and Cpanel, without problems. So, my question is, what can it be causing my issue? I need to be able to access my server hosting interface but Bitdefender breaks it. I hope you can help.
EDIT: After testing this, I decided to reinstall Bitdefender again while typing this post and behold the problem appeared again, I am again locked out of my server login screen.

I also had faced this issue for the last couple of days. I am running with Win 8 64 BIT OS and KIS 2014 AV. I could NOT able to log in to my cpanels from any browser. Initially i thought that this might be a issue from the ISP side. But later i searched in Google found a Solution like below:
Firefox:
Open Firefox
1) in the address bar, type: about config 2) promise to be careful 3) type in the filter bar: encoding 4) double click on the value column of network.http.accept-encoding 5) change the 'string value' from gzip, deflate to true
And It Works for me - i can now see the Login Screen in FF now.
But the same prob persists in GC & IE10. In Safari & FF this works now. I am using all latest Browsers in my Laptop.
Can anybody suggest me how to cope with the issue in GC & IE.

Just bought Bitdefender Total Security 2016, and this is the first issue I have had with it. Problem being, I am a web developer and manage many websites and projects. So this is absolutely a deal breaker, especially if this issue has been around for 3 years, and the developers have not fixed it. Makes me wonder about the rest of the program, and how stable it is. I should not have to mess with .dll files manually when it comes to my security software.
