Virus Masquerading As Bitdefender?

Recently a nag started popping up in the lower right area of my taskbar. It claims to be Bitdefender, and wants me to run a scan.


The thing is, I have never installed any Bitdefender products on my machine.


I cannot find any uninstall applications anywhere on my machine, and there is nothing in the Control Panel Add and Remove Programs panel. I have tried the uninstall application from here, it runs and says it has successfully uninstalled Bitdefender (how it can do that is beyond me, as I have never installed Bitdefender), but it does that everytime I run it.


I have scanned the registry, but do not find any entries for Bitdefender.


I have searched the entire computer and there is nothing that is related to Bitdefender.


I have searched the web and cannot find anything either.


Yet this thing keeps popping up asking me to click it, and since I have never installed the Bitdefender software I refuse to do so.


Can anyone help me with this?
