Options

Does BDIS2014 scan/protect against 'pup' infections ie...Hosts Anti-PUP/Adware ?

I can't find anywhere where this ( anti-pups ) can be enabled or turned on ?

It depends on the PUP/PUA, many come bundled in downloads and are inadvertently added to your computer with your permission when you miss them - BD will not pick those up. It is advisable to also use an Anti-Malware scanner that you can run occasionally to clean out that type of malware.

Bitdefender detects PUA / PUP. For more details please refer to this article:

Thanks as always Georgia...not complaining but don't understand...I spend 2-3 days recently 'cleaning' my gf's PC..had to use 3 of the

major names in adware/spyware to get it malware/spyware/adware clean. She...like me and all the PC's in the house run BDIS2014.

Prior to starting the cleanup of her PC...I ran multiple sessions of full scan BDIS2104 installed on her PC...everything after the 1st scan

    was

'clean'...and none of the issues reported after first scan dealt with Spyware/Adware..etc.

That's when I ran the 3 major name spyware/adware and came up with multiple issues. ( I believe I still have all the logs from the

scan results indicating everything from Trojans-Spyware-Adware...etc if you want them

Now it's extremely doubtful she ran scans on the various downloaded files prior to installing....but even so nothing showed up in

BDIS2014 during or after their installations in post BDIS2014 scans after their installations ??

What's the best procedure to follow then to enable BDIS2014 to detect malware/spyware/adware both prior to program installations

    and after ?

Will a scan of the downloaded infected installation exe file indicate their presents ?

    Thanks...TiminAz

p.s. let me know if you want the removal logs and how to forward them
