Bitdefender Internet Security 2015 And Certificate Ca Error!

Hi!

Here is my history with bitdefender. First I bought BD Internet Security 2014.

I was happy with it,when I just unchecked SSL scanning.

So BD did not make any CA certicates errors with my browsers.

And now I tried to update to BD 2015. And here is the main problem! BD puts itself to Certificate Authority CA and when I uncheck SSL scanning like before with 2014 version,

BD doesn't remember it!

I have to always uncheck SSL scanning manually after reboot.

And it's very odd, because that SSL box is uncheched, but still does the error. So I manually put it on and then off, and it works again.

So, how I can set Bitdefender so,that it Does not scan SSL and remember my choice?

  • Looks like your settings get lost after a reboot. Does this only affect scan ssl option or others as well. I'd recommend running a manual update first just to check it that will just do the trick. And what version do you currently have? 1.gif

I have done everything and more with this SSL issue. It only affect to ssl after reboot and with 2015 new BD Internet Security version. So I have same problem, than mr_stealth has.

BD team is cratching theirs heads and armpits, when trying to fix this issue/Bug.

BD support knows nothing or just don`t admit, that they have released beta version with several bugs! They just tries to blame customers, that fault is in users Pc or programs!

So I have moved back to 2014 version and I uncheck the box "scan SSL" and everything is going fine.

Summarum....Let BD first fix several bugs from 2015 release and then let`s see if they have any customers left to use it...after several weeks...

  • Add me to the list of people having Certificate errors in Firefox (my default browser).

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

I disabled "Scan SSL" in BDTS 2015 and the problem seemed to go away for a while. I have rebooted since and I am getting the error again. The only option in Web Protection is "Protection against Phishing". For some reason, if that is disabled, BDTS pouts and puts big ugly X all over itself.

Thankfully, Chrome and IE don't have this problem.

    Please fix.

Why doesn't BD use a verified certificate of its own to act as the intermediary "man in the middle" to scan the contents of SSL sites?

  • Has this finally been fixed? I'm now not getting (famous last words) this error anymore. It stays turned off and does not suddenly just start again. Started doing this yesterday/today I think.. can't find where "update" section is to confirm if anything has changed.

The problem has gone away for me as well.

  • Hello,

Please make sure your Bitdefender 2015 is updated to the latest build version 18.14.0.1088.

To make sure you have this build open up Bitdefender and click the Update button. Wait until the process ends and restart the PC. Then, test to have the latest build number: right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray -near the clock- and choose "About". You should see in the left upper side the build number: 18.14.0.1088

If the number is smaller (e.g. 18.13... ), repair Bitdefender:

If the issue still persists, reset the browser to its default settings.
