Denied But Connected?

I have a network monitor running that just informed me that an application that I denied access to the i-net just connected anyway. How is this possible?

Win7 Pro x64

BD IS

Malwarebytes Pro

Win FW-- off

  • Hi SB, can you post a screen shot of network monitor that it's denied? From what I understand, when we say application, it connects to the internet using more than 1 IP address such as update servers, etc. It would also help if you can post what application this is and how you set the rule to deny the application. 1.gif

    Hi sb.750,

Which application? (Maybe it could run over denial access mode? just to check the activation key  )

Malwarebytes Pro? Is it the "live" version of Malwarebytes? It could create a conflict with BD IS, the MB "passive" version is fine. To use both active BD & MB could bypass the denial access mode. Deactivate MB pro and check the results.

Rules: one FW, one AV, one or two anti malwares...

    Regards,

    L.

It is one .exe that connects to several IPs. Outgoing and incoming which is a bit disconcerting. And yes.......I'm paranoid

Malwarebytes has nothing to do with this. It doesn't have a FW nor does it care if an app connects to the i-net. There are also no conflicts between BD and MB.

  • Very quiet in here :blink:

A little update, Since BD is an outstanding AV (<-most of the time <img class=" />) I decided to go back to my favourite set up.

 Outpost Pro FW and BD AV. Outpost had a driver conflict (BSOD)on my laptop but its fine on the new PC. Admittedly it takes a bit work to have the two run together but in the end they do.

Also, to my very surprise the BD IS license works on the BD AV.
