The Bitdefender page listing all the removal tools will be the one that is up to date.

The one listed in the 2013 section, last on the right is the one you want.

Good, I am pleased it worked although the couple of times I have used Bitdefender Free I have un-installed from the Control Panel>Programs and feaures with out any problems or hang -overs. However, I had the feeling you would have been much happier with the correct tool to do the job.

Both links point to identical files which may appear to differ by file name. Gonzales_uninstalltool.exe (as in Christian's post) is the original name. BD_Free_Uninstall_Tool.exe is just an alias.0 -

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure if they were the same and as BD Free has had version updates since Christian's pinned post I went for what could be a more recent one.
