What Is The Proper Bitdefender Update Address?
My bane of existence since installing Bit Defender professionally the one consistent problem is the software's problem to update. Please help me by making sure that I have the right update URL and most importantly what else can I do to make sure that my product updates properly. Here is what happens and I am sorry for not mentioning this earlier. The update download goes about half to a quarter way through on the progress bar and it never goes all the way. Please tell me what to do if you have had a similar situation because I have tried to manually update it and Bit Defender turns off and the update will not take.
Thank You,
Rich

Hello
The default update address for Bitdefender 2013 is http://upgr-mmxiii.cdn.bitdefender.net and we recommend you to use this one.
http://upgrade.bitdefender.com is the update server for older products and sometimes is used as backup in troubleshooting processes.
Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The default, as you may have noticed in your Settings/Update window is the 2nd one Rampant listed. If I ever run into an update issue, I try the other one shown. You can then reset to the default update server by hitting the Default button.

In older versions of products, it is possible to use an alternative update server, I think this feature helps to update the product, if there is a problem on the main server or one of the servers blocks the virus. In products for business, I use both the server for updates.

Hi Rampant
Would you like to explain what do you mean by "one of the servers blocks the virus", some sort of false +ve you are thinking about? I think that all servers are synchronized and have same detections (local and cloud).
I am also in favor of redundant servers (primary and secondary), so that if one fails, other become available or option to prompt for server address, in case of primary server failure.0 -
Hi Omer!
I'm talking about blocking servers, certain viruses, for example Kido knows how to do it.0 -
