Ransomware Protection
Windows 10 home 64-bit
When I first installed BDTS 2016, 'Ransomware Protection' was disabled. I manually turned it on.
Anyone else have this issue?
It's supposed to be enabled by default.

The Module was turned on by default for me running BDTS 2016 x64 ....I only had to check "Protection on Boot" if I remember correctly0 -
Thanks for the info.
Just for an experiment, I reinstalled BTDS. Ransomeware Protection was off.
I guess I'll have to contact tech support to see what's going wrong with the install.

If Ransomware is supposed to be ON by default it has not been ON in my last two Installations. IT is OFF in Bitdefender Total Security 2016 Build 20.0.18.137

I'm having the exact same issue. I contacted tech support via 'live chat' and at first he said Ransomeware Protection is disabled by default. I then showed him this link: http://www.bitdefender.com/media/materials...ransomware.html
I think 'tech support' was confused, because he said he would have to escalate my issue.
Does anyone here at the forum know what's going on with this issue?

I would recommend:
Ransomware Protection 'on'
Protection at boot 'on'
More information here: http://www.bitdefender.com/media/materials...ransomware.html
Hope this helps

I just did a clean install of BDTS 2016 20.0.18.1037 (i.e. it had never been installed previously) on Win10 Pro x64. Ransomware protection was off by default.

Thanks!
Just to let you know once you open and close the module it will throw an error. Ransomware is buggy as heck.0 -
Just ignore my previous post
Uninstalled BDTS 2016 completely couple days ago and installed again.....Its on version 1037 but "Ransomware Protection" module was turned off by default0 -

Update:
Shortened explanation from Bitdefender Support:
The Ransomware Protection in Bitdefender is off by default. The flaw is in the User Guide.
We have directed your report to the appropriate team and it will be fixed as soon as possible.

With all the false detections being reported, I would say it's good that it's off by default.

Penso qual será a configuração adequada? Gostaria que o suporte tecnico respondesse.

I think what will be the appropriate setting? I would like the technical support answer.0
