Sorry for not being clear. The network that is seem is the fix line. The pc does not see any other network. Do I have to enter a number or something in that "zone" ?

    Thanx

  • Dear albo,

Yes. First do this press the windows button together with r now type cmd press enter. Now type:

ipconfig /all press enter. Write down the ip-address that you will find under wireless connection because that you are going to need to allow it in zones section of BitDefender firewall.Press on the add button select computer and enter the ip-address that you wrote down select trusted press on ok.

No success....It creates a new ethernet pass. I guess it should create something related to the wifi card. And the wifi still does not see the network (no network available). Anything else to try ?

    Thanks so much

  • Dear albo,

Ok select the option browse local network and trust it press on ok. Normally BitDefender should detect your wireless network. Can you please go also to the activity tab and expand each section by pressing on the +-icon see if nothing is blocked. Please press on export snapshot the file will be save and post the output or attach the report to your next post.

dear Niels, it is not working better after this. The pc does see the network but cannot enter it despite many attempts to reenter the wep code. how strange. the wifi card does work properly (no conflict) and bd does not bloc anything particularly. what shall i do ?

    Thanx

  • Dear albo,

Try this right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on open advanced settings,go to the firewall section navigate further to the advanced tab uncheck stealth mode and check the option apply the same (generic) profile on all new networks. Check also if your wireless network has the same SSID name that you entered into the settings of your wireless network and into your router page. To get in your router page by doing this press the windows button together with r now type cmd press enter. Now type:

ipconfig /all press enter now write down what is written after default gateaway into your browser. Now navigate the wireless settings page, and save the SSID name. Change the name of your wireless connection also to the same name that you entered by SSID in your router configuration page.
