Bitdefender Flagging One Website With Invalid Certificate

There is a website which I frequently access from several of my computers all of which are running BITdefender Antivirus Plus 2016.

On just one of my computers, this website is being flagged as having an invalid certificate. I can access many other secure websites; it is just this one particular website that is giving me the error. It says the certificate issuer is "Untrusted Bitdefender CA." If I check the certification path it says "This certificate is OK."

I'm baffled as to why I am having this problem on just this one computer. I figure there must be some problem with the installation of BITdefender. But, before I uninstall and re-install, I am wondering if there is something I can do to fix this problem.

I am running Win7 64 bit, and I am having the problem in IE11 and Chrome.

  • No need to uninstall/reinstall, just run a repair. Windows Control Panel>Programs and Features>Bitdefender, double click it and choose Repair, allow it to finish and reboot your computer.

If that makes no difference, report the problem to Bitdefender from the GUI>Figure Icon drop down>Help and Support.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ran the repair. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. <img class=" />

I think I will do an uninstall and then reinstall. If that doesn't fix the problem, then I will report the problem to Bitdefender.

You have a backup (antecedent) running.
  • You might want to try this: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/cannot-access-secure-websites-since-i-installed-bitdefender-1600.html

After you do what bitdefender suggests, you might also want to clear all your cookies and clear the ssl slate. Then close out the browser and try it again.
