Search Advisor Not Working

Search Advisor not working in windows 10 (Microsoft Edge) browser.

Tech support tells me that Search Advisor is not compatible yet.

Is anyone else having this issue?

When will there be a fix for this?

regards.

    Answer to my previous question.

Me (04:11:16) : When will 'site advisor' be compatible with 'Microsoft Edge' browser?

Tech Support (04:11:57) : It does not work with Edge because that browser does not accept any extensions to be added to it.

Me (04:13:10) : So what your saying is that it will never be compatible

Tech Support (04:14:23) : I do not know what will happen in the future.

  • But what about other browsers in Win10?

It's not working in Chrome either.

The Wallet plug-in is enabled, so we know plug-ins work in Chrome.

Search Advisor works for me in both Google Chrome and Firefox in with Windows 10. Attached screen from Chrome search.

  • Same here

    Windows 10

    Chrome 44.0.2403.130

  • I use Firefox.

Search advisor is not working in the latest version.

So I have installed the free McAfee Web Advisor along with Web of Trust free programme.

    Both are working fine.

  • I have discovered that Search Advisor will work on Windows 10 and Chrome on ONE specific page - The very first Bing search results page and only the first page.

Still not working for any Google searches or any further Bing searches past the first page of results.

Take your screenshot and save it somewhere - I use desktop. You can use something like the Windows Clipping Tool to select just the area you want.

Under the reply box on the right click "Browse" and navigate to your screen shot.

Double click it and then "upload".

It should then say "Manage Current Attachment (1).

When you post with the "Add Reply" box that attachment will show up, just like this -

Update: Search Advisor (Bitdefender 2016 beta) working in Microsoft Edge Browser. Keep up the good work BD.

  • Any updates on getting it to work in Chrome?

  • There's a strong chance whatever is causing Search Advisor to not work in some browsers is not browser specific. I'm finding that it doesn't work in MS Edge for me, even though the fix is in to get it working there. We know Windows 10, and compatibility with Windows 10, is a work in progress, and many of us are having issues while others are not.

What can we do to help figure this out?

Are there any browser or other settings we should toggle?

Should we fully uninstall and reinstall?

It does little good for us to keep complaining. What can we do to help?

Should each of us that are still having problems open tickets?

  • An old topic but very timely as to my case.

At present a friend of mine experiences the same issue - in different OS environment and internet browser: Win 7 & Mozilla Firefox.

BIS 2016 web protection is no longer functioning on the machine, despite all options are correctly set.

This issue persists since a recent reinstallation of BIS 2016, which was necessary due to a Bitdefender Central error that removed the perfectly functioning BIS 2016 from her PC (!), despite the machine is running with a paid for BIS subscription valid for another 400 some days.

For 10 days now my friend has been without BIS and internet protection due to these issues. She opened a ticket with Support after Bitdefender had removed the system from her PC. To speed up the process I offered my help to settle this issue. I submitted the log requested by BD Support, but since yesterday I am still waiting for an answer. So it seems staying without web protection is a normal situation, so why to hurry?

Note however, when my friend or I don't respond to Support right away, they are available right away and immediately send an email in attempt to try to close the ticket.

Since I can't wait forever for Support's reply, I have searched this topic on my own. I found similar problems on this forum, but only conversations among those who have same/similar issues, without any advice on this given by experts. All I saw as 'advice' is to 'open a ticket with Support' - lol, thanks very much.

The usual story of great start-up companies ending up as a monster with underpaid and overworked employees sitting in an office somewhere on another planet, who don't give a rat's body part. They collect your money for the subscription then off you go.

If we don't start complaining en masse, nothing will ever change. We have seen it all over again, in this system all companies that eventually make it start acting this way. Those who still believe that this system is consumer-oriented, are simply deluding themselves.
