Optimizer control

Options

I recently (less than a week ago) installed Bitdefender Total Security 2017 on a few devices including my laptop running Windows 7 (Build 7601). For the last couple days my laptop has been running like crap - lagging browser pages, lagging Microsoft Word, looong startup time...this after 5 years of smooth sailing with this laptop. Since Bitdefender is the only change I've made I started there. Apparently the "Optimizer" has deleted tons of items including Registry items. Obviously some of those should have stayed. Is there a way to 'undo' the changes? As well, is there a way to turn off or uninstall the "Optimizer" without losing functionality of the other Bitdefender components? I've now turned off the autopilot feature but am not confident that it will stop files from being deleted...I recall during setup that I selected to only have tools run when prompted but I guess that got changed somehow. I definitely don't want an application making changes to the Registry. Btw, my techno-savvy is about equal to my 11 yr olds so...any suggestions are appreciated...this really ######.

    Hello,

Sorry to hear about the situation you encountered. The Optimizer even with the Auto Pilot on will not start optimizing the machine, that feature is strictly user controlled.

Please contact our support at bitsy@bitdefender.com and provide them with the logs from the Bitdefender Support Tool to assist with the slowdown.
