Options

Just curious, i've given all three a test drive and i'm extreamly pleased w/ Internet Security 08!

As many have read, i dislike the interface (GUI) of the 08 line but man i really like Internet Security! It's a keeper!

  • Heh, heh, heh... 50+ views AND NOT A SINGLE VOTE! Not even a quicko "stop asking goofy questions TheWatcher". i mean jeez! Someone's gotta' light a fire under your rear ends

  • I voted IS because I use it. It is enough for my protection. :)

Thank you! i appreciate the vote/reply.. it's more then i can say for some of you other viewers.... YEAH I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, YA' GOONS!<img class=" />

  • It dependes on each`s prefferences. There are some who use another firewall, or are behind a router which can provide them enough protection. I am also behind a router, however, BD firewall is well worth to be installed.

Some won`t need the additional modules provided with Total Security, also.

    Best regards!

IS here. Personnaly. there is nothing in Total that I would use. I tried it, but IS 2008 does what I require. A bit sad to see that in the 2009 line, Total security seems to be the one getting most of the attention.

The same was for 2008 beta campaign. The reason why only BTS 2009 beta is released is because it's the most complete one. After they finish it (after the BETA ends), they will just remove the excess modules and release the other two versions. :)

  • May be BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense,I'm trialing it now and I'm very impressed with it B)

  • BD2009  It took me all of three seconds before i signed up to try it out! Thanks for the posts!

Here are details about BD2009 BETA Campaign: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...amp;#entry27478 and also a screenshot of it...it looks really nice, better than 2008, in my opinion. I can't want for the first beta :D

  • Just renewed BDIS2008 and loaded it on my XP Home/SP3 PC and my Vista Premium/SP1 Laptop. Took about an hour, including uninstalling dreaded Norton and updating BD.

Turned off Identity Control and Parental Control, as these are not required and all running o/k for me.

I've been with Bitdefender for years and they have some problems, as do ALL the others (just look at other forums) but I am currently a happy bunny.

I chose BDTS 2008 yesterday simply because it installed without triggering any Windows XP warnings. When I trialed BIS 2008 last week on my XP-SP3 system I got Windows warnings during install concerning compatibility and system instability being affected if I continued with the installation. I did continue despite these warnings as I've seen them before with device drivers, but I wasn't happy about it, even though BDIS seemed to work okay.

So I trialed BDTS 2008 instead and curiously that installed with not a single Windows warning. So it's BDTS for me, even though I won't use it's extra features.

Since I am behind a router and I also have been using SunBelt´s CounterSpy (one of the best for it´s intended task) for adware and spyware protection, I only use the Antivirus version of BD 08.

I have yet to catch any nasty with this combo and if you need the extra protection of a great heuristics, The free version of ThreatFire from PCTools is also worth trying.

I have voted for BitDefender Anti-Virus 2008. The Anti-Virus is all I really need. :)
