After uninstalling Bitdefender Free...
....I got, all of a sudden , several Microsoft updates available (Win 7, 64 bit)
It seems like somehow , Bitdefender Free prevented the PC to get these updates

My advice reinstall Bitdefender it is a far superior product to Windows Defender & has a admirable showing in Malware Testing Labs0 -

Indeed, it is , but with ZERO support is very difficult to navigate with such a product.0
