VPN not installed, bd thinks it is

I recently upgraded to bd total security 2019 and the vpn doesn’t work now. I get an error message saying that the .exe file is missing when I try to launch it. I uninstalled BD and the vpn, tried to re-install but BD still thinks the vpn is installed so all I get is an option to launch it which produces the error. I don’t get the uption to install the vpn. Contacted support who told me to remove the vpn via the win 7 control panel (programs and features), but it isn’t in the list of programmes. Can anyone help?
