Cannot reinstall/uninstall/load in taskbar
Recently thinking a random power throttle in my WIN 7 was caused by Bitdefender processes spiking my CPU, I began trying to uninstall so I could do a fresh installed version.
After failed attempts to remove it by using Control Panel, not able to find it in Revo Uninstaller, nor able to remove it booting in safe mode, I am now stuck with a version that will not load in task bar because it says trying to login and must restart system when forcing it to load, nor let me get rid of it so another AV can install without saying I need to remove this one first, I am lost on what options I have left to try.
Now trying to download and install over itself fails, trying to uninstall in control panel does nothing- no error just does nothing at all- and system restore fails no matter the point chose. Since soon I have to buy a WIN 10 anyhow, I am ready to take a loss, but mad as to have been beat by anything I did not learn from.
Any ideas welcome, specific registry areas would no doubt be ideal.

Hi,
Use the uninstall tool below and after that try again to install Bitdefender: http://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/BD_Free_Uninstall_Tool.exe
Now check if the Bitdefender processes are spiking again. In case they are, please send us some screenshots from Task Manager displaying the processes and the CPU usage.0 -
TY Roxana for the tool. Unfortunately it did not remove all, but showed it completed. After restart I attempted to install latest version and it got about 98% and kicked an error message that said (no specific name or number) installation error, so could not complete the installation.
I attempted the process again, but before trying the install I saw in task manager service and process for supposedly uninstalled version running and no way to disable either one.
gzserv.exe
Now I have 3 folders showing modified date as the same- 10/23/2019, under Program Files:
Bitdefender
Bitdefender Agent
Bitdefender Antivirus Free
So in the end that tool did not completely remove the necessary files for me to be able to have a fresh installation of latest version. Now what?0 -
