Hello all. Per the instructions in the sticky I have used HijackThis to produce the necessary logfile. It follows, below. Also, As the topic title for my post indicates, the virus/trojan that BitDefender constantly pops up to inform me about is: Trojan.PWS.OnlineGames.WLM.

It's path (which I don't understand since I don't see that path on my pc) is: C:\System Volume Information\_restore{1DD82B3F-959B-49C5-9C56-7RP444\S00047833.Acl

I'm running windows xp home on an Athlon 64 3200+ w 1.5 gigs of ram

My first effort to deal with this was to follow a friend's (first) suggestion and run BitDefender in safe mode and see whether I couldn't snag this trojan and delete it from my pc. Disappointingly, My BitDefender shows up in safemode on my pc as a non functioning, expired trial versio, even though I have a bought version that still has over 300 days on it.

Thanks in advance.

    The log is clean !

How to clean a malware found in System Volume Information: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=3575

  • Thanks. I'll check out that forum. I've also got Spyware Blaster which I forget I have. But I thought that with the robust BitDefender I wouldn't need something like Spyware Blaster.

SUPERAntiSpyware is much better than Spyware Blaster.

Thanks again. I'll look at that. As for my trojan problem, it seems to have gone bye bye. Next time BD finds something in the volume info file, I'll know what to do.
