suspicious.cloud.13

I am getting suddenly in a deep scan (which I regularly do) a number of suspicious.cloud.13 detections; all in a GMAIL OST 2018 file. What kind of threat is this? Why do they come up now?

    @Paul_Timmers

    Suspicious.cloud.13 is a cloud based detection by bitdefender which is independent of signature based detection that is created by malware researchers.

    You can read more about cloud based detection on https://www.kaspersky.com/resource-center/definitions/cloud-antivirus

    Further, if you feel the file on your PC is falsely detected, you can share the file directly with malware researchers via online forum https://www.bitdefender.com/submit/ .If the file is indeed falsely detected, the detection will be removed in maximum of 72 hours or if the cloud based detection is correct, hopefully signature based detection will be created against them.

    If the samples size is more than allowable limit of above forum i.e. 25 MB, you can always zip all detected files together and mail it to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com stating in the body that the files are detected by cloud base engine instead of signature based engine and you want to verify if the files are really malicious or falsely detected.

    NOTE : Make sure you password protect the zip files and provide the password to support team also.

    The support team will then internally share the samples with malware research team and update you.

    Response may be delayed due to less staff and covid19. Rest be assured, they will reply back asap.
