Installation Crashed PC?

I have a Dell Inspiron with Intel i7 processor running Windows 10 64 bit, a 1TB hard drive, 8GB of memory. Luckily I had made a disk image before I tried to install bitdefender. I downloaded the home version, started the installation, and got the following error message:

"Your PC will automatically restart in one minute.

Windows ran into a problem and needs to restart. You should close this message and save your work."

One minute later the PC restarted

The login screen appeared.

I logged in

The desktop appeared

Two minutes later the same message reappeared and my PC restarted.

I powered down my PC and then did a system recovery using my backup software.
