Cannot RDP into another computer:

After several searches and review evaluations, I honed on the Free version of Bitdefender - however, it gave me the run-around!!!
After installing the Free Bitdefender on my Windows 10 laptop, I could no longer RDP into my computers that were Windows 7 and newer (and received an authentication error - "The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted"), but I was still able to RDP into my old Windows XP computers.
The nature of the error from the logs and web searches lead me to believe that it was a Windows error - alas, it was only after removing Bitdefender that I was then able to use RDP to all of my computers again.
The other workaround is to exclude mstsc.exe, and RDP also successfully works again, but I don't see why I should have to do this to get a legitimate Microsoft App to work. From this, this now also begs the question what else is Bitdefender blocking that shouldn't be blocked, or more importantly, what is Bitdefender allowing in that shouldn't be allowed in?
The one thing I did enjoy though, was the online status of my devices - but I didn't enjoy the fact that it kept giving me the false report that there was a risk problem.
Perhaps Bitdefender would like to look into these matters before I try it again.
Cheers.

  • But still no answer from Bitdefender why their product blocks RDP, a legitimate Microsoft mstsc.exe application - what else are they blocking that they shouldn't and/or what are they NOT blocking that they SHOULD?

This is poor service, and I suggest that anyone reading this post does their homework first before signing up with Bitdefender!
