Thank you for your understanding.

Update from v. 26.0.18 to v. 26.0.23

Options

Product was automatically updated on August 4. Since then I get "TrustedInstaller.exe" showing up every time I start up the computer, taking a good chunk of CPU resources, without any update needed/performed. It stays on for about 5 minutes.

Also since the update, I noticed "BD Test Engines Init" ("testinitsigs.exe") coming up, when the definitions are updated I believe, also taking up CPU.

Please see attached images.

Having said that, I appreciate that the free edition is based on the full blown Total Security engine.

    Hello @Sunsetlover8,

testinitsig is an .exe used to prevalidate the signatures brought on the update, to ensure that no crashes will occur when they are loaded into the product. The automatic signature update is done 5 minutes after the start of the process and then hourly.

  • Thank you all and sorry I didn't reply sooner.

Product updated to 26.0.25.84 on Aug 27. I still get TrustedInstaller.exe for about 4-5 min on start-up (taking up to 30% of CPU), followed by BDservicehost taking up to 20-25% of CPU (but a whopping 360 MB of memory) for another 2 min.

    Hi @Sunsetlover8,

I would recommend contacting the technical engineers, so they can perform some checks on the device. It's difficult to pronounce ourselves at this stage, but surely after analyzing the specifications and overall performance, they will be able to draw some conclusions.

You can get in touch with our engineers by choosing one of the contact methods available here:
