BitDefender Not Compatible With Windows 11 24H2
Hi,
I keep being disconnected with the host.
The current installation package in the cloud portal isn't compatible with Windows 11 24H2.
The smaller download package and the epskit x64 abort with the same result.
Its ridiculous there's no fix to the issue.

One reason might be because the current stable version of Windows 11 is 23H2, which is completely working fine with Bitdefender products. As for Windows 11 24H2, it is currently released to Insiders (Canary & Dev channels), so you will face issues since they are not stable releases. To ensure Bitdefender works properly on Windows, it should be a stable Windows version. As far as I know, testing of Bitdefender products is done on stable releases of Windows versions only.
Additionally, the first preview of Windows 11 24H2 was released on February 8th, 2024, and the stable release is expected to be released in September, 2024. Therefore, you will have to wait for the stable version to ensure compatibility with Bitdefender product. Microsoft advises using Insiders builds at your own risk, as some software may fail to run properly. As far as I know, Bitdefender developers will not release any fixes for Windows versions that are not stable.

The installation checks for the supported OS versions. I cannot speak for multiple products (or 100% accurate for the exact installer code), but installing on an unsupported version, especially for a product of this kind, is not something supported. But I will ask the appropriate guys and get back as soon as I have an answer.
Meanwhile, the suggestion of using a supported OS is the correct one.
2 -
You're correct but this is first time I've seen a product fail to run on Windows.
All my other software doesn't check what Windows version I'm running and I can use it.
That means I need to wait a couple of months to run BD. I might as well pause it until then.

An issue has been filed on this one, and although it is not on the priorities top, we would look into it.

A question: does this refer to the business product, or the consumer product?
0 -
Looks like is about the EPS product. Consumer product installs just fine.
0 -
My issue is with the business product.
Looks like the consumer product is supported as they all would be.
If the server didn't connect to the server due to payment issues, I could test it next month.
Thanks for your help.

I cannot say that is due to payment issues, it might. But I think the setup for business it might be more restrictive. Someone from the business team might contradict me, sure.

Hello @NormanF ,
Windows 11 24H2 it's an Insider version (not officially released) so the agent Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) will not run on this version. We are compatible with all stable Windows versions which are available on the market.
When Microsoft will officially release the 11 24H2 we will be compatible with it. This is due to the fact that the Insider versions need to be tested by us as well and ensure there are no compatibility issues that would put you at risk in any way. Furthermore, during this beta period Microsoft might discover different bugs on this version which will be fixed before the official version is released.
Supported OS:If you need additional help please let me know.
Kind Regards,
Andrei

Is there any update on this? 24h2 for ARM has been released on new devices and is still unsupported? For how long?

24H2 has landed and official. Yet Bitdefender total security still wont scan from the NEW context menu? is there a fix coming anytime soon? I am aware of the workaround , old context menu as Ive been on the non official 24h2 for some time. Our other PC's just updated to 24h2 from official windows update also they are unable to scan from the Windows context menu. Any time frame on when this will get a resolve?
Thanks in advance

If you’re talking about Bitdefender Total Security for home users, everything works fine for me with the latest Windows 11 24H2. I’m currently using Bitdefender Ultimate Security Plus (the top-end Bitdefender product for home users), which has additional features compared to Bitdefender Total Security, but everything else is the same. So yeah, no issues on my end!
If the issue is currently affecting your system, you will need to go through Bitdefender support since they will ask for logs and help you create them as well.
Kindly contact Bitdefender support by visiting
Select, How to's & Troubleshooting Bitdefender products→Troubleshooting→I don't know→Contact Support→ You will get the option of chat, call or email.

I'm not sure what means the new context menu. We did not changed the contextual menu for some time AFAIK.
Can you post some more details (and screenshots if possible) ?

@Wiredincanada, I promoted you to Level 2 so that you can share screenshots as requested by @camarie

Hi,
I'll join the chat here as well. I remembered there was another discussion regarding this and found it:
From what I understand, this is something known to us @camarie and I believe @dvsls may have some insight on the ongoing developments?

Thank You Alexandru_BD this is the exact issue, I simply want the scan to work from the first right click context windows and to not have to goto showmore options and scan from there, not a deal breaker but this should not be an issue at this point. I did unistall again via the uninstall tool and follow the removal of temp etc files to no avail again. 3 Different PC's :(
I have taken a video via screen capture but cannot upload here. Taking screen shots cannot demonstrate the issue but Thankfully Alexandru_BD has provided a link for reference to the issue. Thanks all for helping with this as its not as stated a deal breaker but if something is broken fix it!! :)

Tried to share a google drive video attached sadly I get informed I have not been around long enough to do so. So we will have to go on the above post provided by Alexandru_BD Thanks Again!

Hi @Wiredincanada,
Check if you can attach files now. For the record, the page doesn't really handle videos very well, as these can often be quite large and may affect how the page loads. YouTube links work just fine btw, so if you have a channel and maybe an unlisted video, you can post the link here. But I think we get the picture and this is something that will require some work, as far as I know..
Thanks,
Alex

I have the Windows 11 24H2 Update since yesterday (Microsoft released it officialy two days ago), and I have exactly the same issue with the context scan, it doesn't work, nothing happens.
I think Bitdefender should fix that problem with an update.
Edit: I found this Reddit Topic with others having the same problem.

Huge Ty for the addition of this info Songeta.92 very much appreciated, hopefully this will spark Bit Defender's dev Team to have a fix soon :) Thanks to everyone who has commented!!

Thanks for the video, now I understand what happens. Let me try to reproduce and check why this happens.

Update: from the colleagues in charge: we do have a repro, and a fix is in testing. It will appear on the following updates.
2 -
Hey camarie do we have an ETA yet for this fix?
0 -
The issue has been fixed, most likely it will appear in the next update. We had to get yesterday an update (which did not include this fix) because of other several things (Safepay needed to be updated to a more recent engine, support for WPA3 in Wifi, mainly). I'm not sure at this time when the next update will be pushed to the market, I would say in the November 03 - November 10 range. But, again, it's an educated guess, not a promise, there are a lot of moving targets I don't know.

Thank You camarie!! very much appreciated, Have a great one

When is the update expected?

As above Nov 3 - Nov 10

Appears today's update has provided a fix and things are working as it should! Thank you for all the advice and the info!!

Is this truly up2date? Bitdefender SDK still fails to install for incompatibility reasons.
