Bitdefender security went down during an update , does it affect my vpn's connection too ?

i clicked on update icon of bitdefender which started updating , meanwhile the

bitdefender icon became vanished & the windows started asking me to switch on my antivirus, i was doing online work at that time , it is a great risk to go online without windows security.
1. does bitdefender and it's firewall provides the same level of protection the situation mentioned above ?
2. As bit.vpn is part of bitdefender and it is also updated when bitdefender updates itself , need to know that if i m connected to the vpn , and meanwhile the Bitdefender performs an auto update which contains vpn's update too, ll my vpn connection be at risk at that time ?

Some modules are turned off for a very short time while the patch is being applied. Bitdefender has many systems that back up each other and provide protection.

By design, the developers would not make an update system that would leave customers vulnerable in any way. Although WSC reports that AV was off, you were not left unprotected.

It is not necessary for the VPN to be updated at the same time with the antivirus, usually these are two separate product updates. And the VPN appears ON, as far as I can tell from your screenshot. Right?
