Bitdefender's update interval is set to hours
The update interval of Bitdefender has been set to 8 hours since one of the product's updates a few months ago. I have multiple times turned it back to every hour and it keeps reverting to "8 hours". This setting is set without any usage Profiles being active at the time.
Is this a bug or is the new default update check interval 8 hours?

Hello @TzonZ,
If the profiles are active, this can affect the update interval. Check if the function "Activate profiles automatically" is switched off under the Profiles tab. After disabling the profiles, set the update interval again and check if the preferences are kept afterwards.

Dear Alex,
The Profiles as a setting are active, but no profile is activated when the time interval is switched to 8 hours. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, and I got the same problem after a while: The update interval is set to 8 hours with no active profile.
If I disable the Profiles feature all together, then what is the purpose of having it in the first place?
Also, I think it is a poor design choice (confusing) to have the visible settings change depending on each profile. When someone looks at the settings, how can he know if these are general settings or profile specific settings? In other words, it is unclear if changing settings are set/saved to the currently active profile or in general.

I have this issue as well, the update interval keeps changing from 1 hour to 8 hours.
I'll try as has been suggested by @Alexandru_BD and turn the profiles off and see if that fixes it.

The issue of the updater changing the update interval from 1 hour to 8 hours has indeed to do with the profiles, when profiles are disabled it never changes the update interval but when profiles are enabled and activated by for example you use vlc media player then it immediately changes the update interval from 1 hour to 8 hours.
I've turned the profiles off for now until this is fixed.
