Very very slow after doing a full scan

I did a full scan, took 14 hours,On my 10 year old Dell desktop. And now it is taking 5 to 6 minutes to execute every single keystroke. The Dell is now effectively unusable, not sure what the scan did to my computer, but would like to reverse it. Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

    The speed of a System Scan depends on many factors such as system specifications, large volumes of data, the computer resources in use by another software, it’s the first scan since installing Bitdefender, and most importantly, the number of archives & over-compressed files/backups. With every system scan, Bitdefender will index the files that have already been scanned, and the scan time will greatly decrease.

  • well I tried everything on the list, and the browsing is still fantastically slow, I think I’m going to give up on bit defender. I’ll Unload it and go and get it paid for product that works! And it was a Which? Best Buy, so much for Which!

    This product works for millions of users worldwide. I think there's a chance that it may just not work as expected in your configuration, given that we are talking about an older processor..? This could be one of the reasons. Can you confirm if the PC meets the minimum system requirements to install Bitdefender?

  • Wow, 14 hours for a full scan on your 10-year-old Dell? No wonder it's running so slowly now. Try restarting first, then defrag your drive. Disable any unnecessary startup items too.
