Does game mod excludes the games by not scanning each and evert read/write file of the game when its game mod is on ?
I think the antivirus can recognize the game .exe, but generally speaking, it doesn't perform a deep inspection of the game itself, when the game profile is enabled. Basically, this is lightweight and OS level observation only. Game Mode primarily changes antivirus behavior, not the OS itself, so apart from supressing notifications that could steal focus or disrupt the play, it postpones background tasks and focuses on adjusting resource usage, to avoid tasks that could increase latency. I think it can also detect fullscreen or known game processes, this is typically how most game modes work.

A.V. programs interact with various background system processes active during gameplay. Many gamers disable comprehensive protection in favor of behavioral monitoring to maximize FPS. Is relying solely on behavioral analysis sufficient for robust security? Please provide precise technical insights.
I think you could ask Support for more information here. As far as I know, game mode doesn't modify the game, doesn't permanently alter OS settings, and it doesn't touch GPU or game engine. If someone experiences serious FPS drops or stuttering, game mode usually has nothing to do with that. Deeper system interaction like real-time scanning, firewall filtering, or driver conflicts would be more likely… And like I said on your other thread, ATD is the module to keep enabled in this case, as this one is most likely to catch malware disguised as a game.
But to go back on your initial question, game mode doesn't actually exclude the game.
@Alexandru_BD
There is a persistent issue where the mod's update frequency does not automatically revert to the one-hour cycle.
Can you share more details about this behavior?
The game mode triggers automatically upon launch, causing Bitdefender's update interval to shift to 8 hours. While it typically reverts to the 1-hour default once the game is closed, it occasionally fails to do so. This has been a persistent issue for a long time, much like the login difficulties on this forum.
just like this old error :
i clicked on your msg but still getting the red notification alert.
@dvsls can we check this? Normally, the update interval should revert to the initial setup after disabling the game mode, right?
I don't get this error. Try to mark all messages as read and refresh the browser window.
Yes, the update interval is designed to revert to the default schedule once you exit Game Mode. Please note that during Game Mode, the software continues to provide real-time protection; it simply postpones background tasks to optimize performance.
We will investigate this issue further.
thx for your kind attention
