Question Concerning Recent Bd Antivirus 2008 Updates.
Hi Everyone,
Within the last week , I've received two updates that required reboots after the update process was finished . And it seems likes it's been awhile since I received any updates that required reboots.
Several files , that I received false positives on , that I was holding in the quarantine folder , no longer triggered virus alerts after I restored them from quarantine . In the past , I would receive a virus alert within minutes after restoring these files.
Which leads me to ask if the recent updates contained a fix for the false positive problem ?
Thanks.

Hello leoliver,
That might be the cause. But to be sure what files were being quarantined? If it was a generic detection or behaves like that could be a false positiv but not necessary. I suppose that you still have the scan reports it could be handy that you can give them to me. To obtain that information please open BitDefender by right clicking on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray press show now click on history, antivirus and double click on realtime protection events or scan finished show scan log and save it and attach it as an attachment here.
Kind regards,

Niels,
I had a problem with the same files being tagged as infected by BD 2008 . And I've sent the files to BD , and posted ( with attachments) on this forum about the problem , and the issue of the scan exceptions not working.
If you do a forum search for "leoliver" posts you should find the info you requested , in posts I've already made.
If that doesn't work for you, then let me know and I will re-post copies of the false positive files.0 -
Hello leoliver,
The problems with exceptions don't working was related to build 11.0.17 of BitDefender 2008 products. I personally didn't had that issue because for my language version build 11.0.16 was the latest build. The exception problem is solved in the 2009 version. You can upgrade for free for the remaining days of your current license key. Was it this topic? Ok. I will contact a virus researcher so he can take a look at it.
Kind regards,

Niels,
The topic you selected was the correct one , containing copies of the false positives files.
I think I will go ahead and upgrade to BD 2009. Even though I 've had a few issues with BD , I must say that BD has done a outstanding job of keeping dangerous malware off my computer. I know folks who had infected computers , and I'm glad that BD protected me from that sort of malware disaster.
Anyways, thanks for your help with this issue.0 -
Hello leoliver,
Strange I downloaded a recent version of notepad++ and BitDefender Total Security 2009 didn't detect anything that also happened with the installer of revo uninstaller. So it could be related to an older version. But I will contact a virus researcher to take a look at it. Does BitDefender still detect these files on your computer?
Kind regards,

No BitDefender now ignores them .0 -
Hello leoliver,
That means that the false positives are fixed. Because if you have restored them and the detection was still there you should have see a BitDefender pop-up. Sorry for the delay but I do this forum in my free time. I don't going to report it. That is also the reason why I asked you for confirmation.
Kind regards,
