Access To My Linksys Router
Hi All,
Ever since I installed BitDefender Total Security 2009 on my workstation and laptop I have lost access to my LinkSYS Router web portal access to the admin page?
HELP!!
Luckily I have a dual built on my laptop and can access my router 192.168.1.1 through Vista, which does not have Bitdefender installed (luckily). This is really annoying!
I have even changed the settings on the router web page (through vista) so that the Linksys gateway is 192.168.2.1 - still no joy when I try and access from XP.
I don't know what is going on?! I have even installed Bitdefender on friends PCs and this is having the same issue. It's as if Bitdefender just blocks the access...
I have been trying to find the fix for this, but am having no joy. Appreciate is someone can shed some light on this.
Many thanks

Disable http scan(if you eneble gaming mode it should be disabled per preset) and/or the other filters for the browsers and messengers to see if with them turned off you can connect. Then try disableing firewall but when you disable that you d better extract from the router the external plug ,just as a precaution.Try to connect with Internet Explorer and Firefox to the router admin page.
I wouldn t recommend you conecting often to the admin page and as an advice please do not use the default router admin passwords.Changing the router adress is also recommended.
Edit:I would recommend you to use Advanced interface for BD 2009.0 -
If BD Total Security 2009 is like BD Internet Security 2008 & BD Total Security 2008, you may have to reset your firewall settings, I'm using a LINKSYS Router. I have mine set it up as a direct Internet connection, to a trusted private or home network. You have to go your firewall settings/ Traffic Tab/ Reset Profile/, then a dialog box will appear, asking you how you are connected to the internet, mine is direct internet connection, after your choice another dialog box will appear and ask if it is a trusted private or home network or, public or college network.mine is a trusted private or home network. You also have to have your IMPC filter set to get connected. If you have it filtering to much hardly nothing is going to get through your connection.
