I uninstalled AV2008 properly like it's been sayed but after installing AV2009 my computer starts very slowly, it takes about 5-7 minutes before I can start working ... what's the problem here? It has to do with AV2009 i'm sure of that, Please explane this!!!

Correction here, I just booted and it took +10 minutes to be able to do someting WTF!!! My system is powerfull enough to run latest games problem free... jeeez nothing wrong with it, must be AV2009 because before that it all worked nicly...feeling ripped off now0 -
Hello mcj008,
By removing the older version 2008 did you first right clicked on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray and choose exit. After that you should have run the removal tool. Or here for the 64 bit uninstaller. After the reboot you should have run the removal tool 1 more time before installing the new version.
1) Press the windows button together with r now type this: services.msc press enter. Search for the automatic updates service right click on it and choose properties change the startup-type to disabled press on apply and ok.
2)What other security software do you installed beside BitDefender Antivirus 2009?
3)Open BitDefender switch to advanced view go to the antivirus section, high light the shield tab press on custom level, click on + scan accessed files and select scan program files only press on ok to save the settings.
Kind regards,

Which one ,Zone Alarm(what a hogger?) or Spyware Doctor? " />
I m sorry to say but instead of Zone Alarm you can use a lighter free firewall like Jetico 1 or PC Tools free.
As for Spyware Doctor, you can easily use something else that really detects spyware.
Remove this 2 ,clean the registry, reinstall BD 2009 and disable vulnerability check.
What have you done from what Niels told you?
And please do not swear on a public forum or you werent coded well? " />0 -

blah blah fanboy...zone alarm is ok it's one of the best and works for my money problem free and without CPU hogging, spyware doctor is ok, but anoying there for I only use it manually and disable it after that ( ###### I spend my money on it too wtf! I'm stupid yeah I know to spend money on these crappy programs, maybe I should find some cracks, then maybe stuff actually works?! LoL ... ) ...IT DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THESE!!! ...I did what Niels told me, the program just doesn't work, AV2008 was fine, there's someting wrong with install/unninstall of this BitDefender AV2009 Program and the updating too it seems, how hard can it be to have the program check and uninstall previous ones and clean it all automatically whitout me having to do it all, just bad lazy programming.0 -

Me too. I got a free computer from work. Virtually nothing on it. (even since I have added a few programs, I still have 89% free disk space- 1.3GHz) Started up and was ready to go almost instantly. With the bitdefender 2009 (NO previous antivirus, other than the stupid "ClamWin", which I had already uninstalled), it now takes several minutes to startup, which in and of itself isn't horrible, just annoying. I'm also having a lot of "low virtual memory" problems now, and webpages will just close on me. Don't know if it's related or not...
