  • Hello Saran,

The cookie alerts aren't part of the firewall, but they are part of the Privacy Control module.

A cookie is a small file that a server (a site that you visit, for instance) sends to the client (your browser) with certain configuration or authentication info. Most of the times, cookies need to be allowed in order for a site to function properly.

For instance, BitDefender forum uses cookies to store on your computer the login info (so your computer can automatically authenticate when you click on a forum link). If you block the cookies from BitDefender Forum, then the forum won't be able to store this info on your system and you will have to type your username and password everytime you click a link.

Another example is BitDefender main site (bitdefender.com) that uses a cookie to store on your system what language you prefer using for the site. If you choose a certain language, a cookie is stored on your system with that info. When you re-visit the same site, that cookie is sent back from your system to the server, and the site is shown to you according to your previous option.

More about cookies you can read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie

Also, if you block cookies, most of the times pages aren't blocked from viewing. They won't work quite as expected, but they will work.

So, basically, no, there is no problem with your configuration.
