Taskbar/start Button Gone

I've been having this problem for a while now, where partway through a scan my taskbar and start button disappear. I just get a blank blue bar at the bottom of my screen. Using BD 2009, on windows XP (32 bit). The only way I can seem to get it back is by restarting, but after this happens it will freeze in the middle of a restart and I have to hard reset.

Alright it's been more than a day and still no response. Now 10 days since a scan was able to complete. Come on guys don't make me switch to the competition.

Try to upgrade for free to BitDefender 2010 following the steps from the next thread and let us know if the same issue occurs.
