Unable To Update Bitdefender Internet Service Via Proxy

Options

Hello Bitdefender,

I am using Bitdefender Internet Security 2010 Buid: 13.0.17.343 on my laptop.

My bitdefender failed to update via proxy connection to internet. I already filled the configuration on update => setting:

Primary update location setting : http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (use proxy)

Alternate update location setting : http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (use proxy)

And I also provide username and password for proxy.

Error messege:

An Error occured during the update (could not connect)

Can you solve this error, so i can update bitdefender automatically.

Regards

Febrian.

Is it 64 bit computable? I had a similar problem with Nod32 because it was 32 bit so I downloaded 64 bit and all is good!

No it is 32 bit, with windows Xp SP3

  • Hi Febrian,

I have same problem with you.

I Just installed Bitdefender internet security 2010. My OS is windows XP 32 bit SP3.

The problem is I can not update my bitdefender via proxy on my networks. I have set proxy address, user name, password, and also Primary update location setting : http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (use proxy)

Alternate update location setting : http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (use proxy)

But if i connect directly to Internet, the bitdefender update is running well.

    Kind Regards

    Mike

  • Hi Febrian,

I have a open Ticket with Bitdefender Support for now 3 weeks because most of our PCs are not able to update.

As far as I can see, the systems are connecting to my proxy and requesting some version.id:

    TCP_CLIENT_REFRESH_MISS/200 966 GET http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/av32bit/versions.id - DIRECT/80.157.170.51 text/plain

    TCP_CLIENT_REFRESH_MISS/200 944 GET http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/antiphishing_sig/versions.id - DIRECT/80.157.170.51 text/plain

    TCP_CLIENT_REFRESH_MISS/200 943 GET http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/midas32-v2/versions.id - DIRECT/80.157.170.51 text/plain

    TCP_CLIENT_REFRESH_MISS/200 963 GET http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/dbokf/versions.id - IRECT/80.157.170.51 text/plain

    TCP_NEGATIVE_HIT/400 587 GET http://80.157.170.51/av32bit/versions.id - NONE/- text/html

But failing to get the information from the last one : 80.157.170.51

Accessing this URL in my webbrowser gives me:

    Invalid URL

The requested URL "/av32bit/versions.id", is invalid.

    Reference #9.26aa9d50.1261501876.1f823ffe

I will update you if I have any further information

    Greetings

    Hello Alex,

I have did it, but i found the problem.

Bitdefender can not access proxy server if we use name of proxy server not the IP address.

When i fill the proxy server with IP address bitdefender can update via proxy.

    Thank you for your support.

    Thank you

Is that "patch" needed for all versions or no?

Just wanna make sure I have the latest & mine hasn't updated for a day & it can't find one today.

  • I'm not running via a Proxy, but my BD reports it's not updated for 24 hours now.

Internet connected, but BD fails to connect. My settings have not changed - still supposed to connect hourly for updates, and the settings are the same as before when it was fine. On Win XP Service pack 2, broadband connection. Tried manual update and it fails to connect still.

Anyone else having update issues, not via a proxy??

    Hello,

I have did it on my BD it is working well.

You must use the IP addreess of your proxy not the DNS (name of proxy) and put the user name and passowrd.

I think BD can not recognize the DNS ( name of proxy server).

    thanks
