It could be a conflict with other security software that you have on your pc(if you have). The drivers conflict usually ends with a pc restart.
What other security software do you use and what version of Windows?0 -
I run windows xp with bitdefender v10 and spyware doctor

Do you use Spyware Doctor in real time protection or just for on-demand scan? If you use it in real time, try to disable real-time protection of spyware doctor and see if the restart is gone.

Hello CarlaB
Spyware doctor could be the problem. Are you using the version with anti-virus or without anti-virus? Because the version with anti-virus could cause conflicts.
I advice that you do this boot your pc press several times on the F8 button before the windows loading screen. Choose safe mode and press on enter. Log in with your account. Go to start, control panel,add/remove software and remove spyware doctor. Reboot your pc. Try to install the latest build of spyware doctor:

Hello CarlaB
I suggest that you do this: go to start,my computer, rightclick on my computer choose properties, advanced, boot and repairsettings, settings, uncheck reboot pc automatically confirm by pressing on apply and ok. Now you will see a blue screen. It is important that you post the message e.g stop error and what is also important is the process that you can find in the right bottom corner it could nvidia.sys. Post that info also. After that go to start, run, type eventvwr press enter go to application and double click on it and post the error messages you find there that are logged on the time your pc rebooted.
