Password Protected Files

Hi:

Have been using BD 2010 for about 10 month. (Build 13.0.21.347. Windows XP Home + SP3. Dell Dimension 3100).

I regularly do a deep system scan every 2 weeks and up until 30/10/10 there seemed to be no problems apart from the fact that there are a number of Excel and Word files (approx 50) on my system with password protection (using the standard Microsoft Office password options) which were never reported on the scan logs as being “skipped by BD. I accepted this, but on the last regular scan of 17/11/10 some of these files appeared on the exception list on the log for the first time.

I thought this strange so almost immediately ran another scan which provided a totally “clean” report with no exceptions at all (Scan 1 log below). I then did some work on the machine (NOT using Microsoft Office) and ran the scan again. This time only one of the password protected files was reported as being skipped (scan 2 log below). So I ran the scan yet again and this time there were 2 files reported as being skipped, but the file reported by scan 2 was not one of them (see scan log 3 below). Once more I had not used Office between the scans or accessed the files in any other way.

Can anybody explain what is happening here?

(BTW - I have also scanned the system using CCLeaner, MalwareBytes (latest version) and Microsoft Malicious Software removal Tool. They all report the system as being clean and free from viruses etc).
