In fact this beggars belief…. even with both Bitdefender Virus Shield and Advanced Threat Defense turned off, Bitdefender is still sucking up CPU against the application being debugged.

The only thing I haven't tried is disable, add, reenable, restart…. although the PC has been rebooted after adding the exceptions. The most obvious solution is uninstall and buy something else as time is money and this has already cost me enough today.
