Bitdefender with Visual Studio
Currently Bitdefender performance is killing Visual Studio when debugging software. 10-15 mins to start up an application with CPU usage sometimes peaking at 30%.
Is this expected behaviour? Does it improve over time?

Hello @Andy02718
Have you tried adding Visual Studio or any other software used with that app in AV Exceptions, including the .exe files in Advanced Threat Defense? Also, before you add the Exceptions, I would disable those two modules, add the exceptions, then reenable them, restart your PC and see if that helps.
Kind regards.

The only thing I haven't tried is disable, add, reenable, restart…. although the PC has been rebooted after adding the exceptions.
The most obvious solution is uninstall and buy something else as time is money and this has already cost me enough today.

In fact this beggars belief…. even with both Bitdefender Virus Shield and Advanced Threat Defense turned off, Bitdefender is still sucking up CPU against the application being debugged.

And the only other option would be to send you to Support (i.e. next tier) which would involve more time with back and forth correspondence and in possibly creating and sending log files.
Kind regards.
