This has been occurring everyday for about the last two weeks. It just stops working until I manually restart the service. Please fix this, really annoying.
-
Couple of hours you say? This happened eight hours ago!
-
I'm not sure what they update is going to fix other than removing the false detections and making it so you can un-quarantine files. Are you guys working on a "fix Windows" update as well because only the tech savvie are going to survive this mess.
-
So what caused this issue anyway? Just bad code or something on that line? I've been happy with this product for years and it has its occasional buggy update, but never one as serious as this one. I'll still continue to use this product, but I really hope this kind of thing doesn't happen ever again.

I don't think anything they can do can fix the damage caused.
-
Looks like they're famous now.

It's doing its job. If your OS can't start then there's no viruses!
-
It doesn't let you restore quarantine files that already exist for some reason and it causes that path issue. I had to go down the list (since I did a system restore) and click restore on each file one at a time.... I only had 100 files detected, but it's going to ###### for people with ten times that.

Do some of you guys think that no other antivirus can have false positives? Because that is how you are coming off as. Mike B, are you still using the same PC? I am without any issues. I am using the same PC now. When I saw the alerts popping up left and right I quickly restarted my PC and did a system restore then went on…

Ok, lets' find out what all common traits we all have, other than Win7 x64. It seems that some of you have BD set to auto delete files. WHY is beyond me but that is NEVER a smart move. BitDefender shouldn't martyrdom your own pc in the first place, especially critical system files. lol
-
Can someone really confirm that the problem is bitdefender itself and not a real trojan? I am 100% sure that it is BitDefender because it is happening on my Laptop and PC.
-
I've used BitDefender for years and this is the first major quirk that I've come across, but it's a serious one. It quarantines literally every file on your PC (including BitDefender) and makes your computer unbootable. The damage is already done and there's hundreds of peoples PCs that are potentially effected by this!!
-
Oh, what a mess. My BitDefender auto updated about an hour ago and it's been going ballistic since. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. Literally every file on my PC was being called a FakeAlert Trojan. Eventually my computer wouldn't even boot and I had to system restore. It was bad enough that it was even calling…

Hi Mike B, BitDefender v11 will be available at the end of this year. An exact release date is currently unknown, but BD v11 is already in BETA state. You can try, for free, any of the BD v11 BETA versions: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=796 Cris. Thanks. In order for me to beta test do I need a valid…

BitDefender 11 wil have full 64 Bit OS support. Andrei Thanks for the quick response. I see BitDefender v11 is available for beta testing? How do you enroll in that. I don't want to be out of an anti-virus when upgrading to vista.
