  • Hello Catalin Dobrescu, Thank you, I read this message. But I just wanted to know, when it is expected an update? This month, next month? Is there any information about the specific release date for this update? Too bad laguna debanded by the way. i think they will deliever this very soon.
  • We already know that no tool works from bitedfenders. I had to install the OS again because it messed everything up. Also BD Internet security it has deleted files that it shouldn't. You seem to dislike Bitdefender very much... Do you think that Norton or AVG or the super heavy Kaspersky is better?
  • Bitdefender sure has bugs, but it's better then most of the antiviruses out there, this is PROVEN. It doesn't matter what you comment and what you think...
  • I have one more question for you. Is it still local and cloud-based as it was in Romanian? I remember you claimed cloud integration a few months ago when it was released...
  • Traffic light not yet, all of the above, yes. Wow, I love very very very much then guys, keep up the good work!
  • Hello, We are working on these issues, some of this features will be available in the next product update. Thanks for feedback. Alex I bet you are working on the scanning and the quarantine, but not on the exclusions, TrafficLight and AVC setup. However, these are essentials for an antivirus product. Absolutely 0…
  • At least you can boot... I was unable to do that...
  • Hi Bitdefender. Anti-rootkit is very important feature ( I think). Please add it !!! Thanks. Bitdefender already has an anti-rootkit feature that is bult-in in to the product. If you are talking about AVG's anti-rootkit separate module, here it's built in in to the full system scan or in a custom scan.
  • Boris, nice avatar I agree, they will need to predictably keep up with the newest releases. And with Mozilla's new "Rapid Release" tactics, they need something like Norton's pulse updates (not a commercial) to keep vulnerability protection up-to-date
  • And what about the sidebar gadget? It's not like the scan activity bar, so it's not discussed anywhere. Would we see a gadget with most frequently used tasks or even a metro-style app in Windows 8? I bet antivirus companies will start taking advantage of the new start menu in Windows 8 to directly display the security…
  • Yes, I can also confirm this. I've noticed that my versions are slightly newer then the recomended one. It's not a big deal for me, but for someone who counts on this module to close security wholes.... this is not good. Hope you would update your databases of applications more often.
  • Hello @ Boris. Actually, AVC doesn't allow the program to run and do damage to the operating system. This module injects in any program and proactively monitors behavior. When forbidden actions are performed, the process is automatically killed or blocked, depending on the routine. The place for the IDS module is in the…
  • Hello I have some to add to this topic: 1. In older version the Monitor module was giving you the option to disable some startup software and modify some settings in Windows. For novice users this is quite dangerous because in some cases could lead to malfunctions of the operating system. 2. The firewall slider is missing…
  • Hello That happens because the On Access protection module has already discovered that file and deleted/removed/ it. Thank you. The on-access protection doesn't want to delete a file if it's active in the memory and it keeps the process untill the computer is restarted, while it displays no message about a needed restart.…
  • I ment something like Norton Insight or Kaspersky Secure Network that keeps the hashes of known good and bad files on their servers. I didn't ment this database of already scaned items, but anyway since all the companies are having it now and you haven't sayed no, that answers the question. I am surprised by your forum by…
  • Ok, I asked the same question that "How do Bitdefender protect infected items from spreading which are detected during scan, since it takes action at the end of Scan?" And got reply "None. OnDemand scans are targeted at detecting and removing inactive threats. If a certain infected file is active, or it's accessed by…
  • Kindly read this post. I don't want to read this long post, but it's very unprofessional from antivirus to keep threats on the system, untill the scan has concluded. Also I've noticed that the 2012 version doesn't terminate malware's processes. When they are active it justs flags them for deletion on the next boot. Untill…
  • Even in the proactive defense module, should have a choice of action: move to quarantine, to send for analysis to the virus laboratory. You're absolutely right about that. IDS should be in all the products, but about the quarantine - it produces many false postitives so better not to touch the files. Terminating the…
  • The difference between IDS and AVC is that Active Virus Control lets the program do what they want and for each action it calculates a score. Intrusion Detection System Probably (I'm not sure if I'm right because every company has different understandings for IDS and IPS) enforce some kind of policies. For example deleting…
  • The only problem with making PC Tuneup automated is how powerful it could be and the effect that it could have with users who wish to retain a certain amount of internet history and temporary files. Furthermore, as BitDefender shows in the program, registry cleaning can be a bit dangerous, so I would not advise fully…
  • Hello Boris All your feedback was noted and sent to our project manager. This will be debated in the next product meeting. Thank you. Thank you for accepting the feedback. I have one more suggestion. Make the PC tuneup both manual or automated. this way inexpirienced users can have their PC-s running well without doing…
  • I've watched a presentation of BitDefender 2010 in YouTube, according to which, BD has a list of trusted files (I don't believe they are files, but maybe vendors) that should be skipped from scanning. Is that technology still in BD 2011 and how does it work? Does it include hashes of files locally or in the cloud or does…
  • ONT, thanks for the links you're providing, but they are not helpfull. I know that disinfect performs actions described in the virus definitions, quarantine encrypts and isolates the file and delete exterminates it, but I wonder why manual scans turn on the real time protection and why on manual scanning, files get scan by…
  • Videos in the video library were clickable after the installation. I haven't changed any language settings since then. Search Advisor works the same way for all the browser (basically doesn't work). For the real time protection, I turned it off and I downloaded a few files to test the Active Virus Control and the Intrusion…
  • And... one more. When the Real-Time protection is turned off and I start some scan task (Quick Scan, Deep Scan) Real-time protection turns on, and if infected objects are discovered during scan, RTP denies access to them and the scanner reports them as locked.
  • Another issue is that in Intermediate view, under the Security tab "Parental Control is not configured" keeps reappearing every time I start the interface, even though I have turned it off from the Add/Edit link.
