Just to be friendly Windows security essentials will work with BitDefender nicely though it turns off the firewall just turn it back on after once and it's fine.

Hi open the BitDefender interface and choose antivirus then choose custom scan and use the file chooser to scan that file or folder I'm doing it right now and I see it scans a bunch of system files maybe they are used by that which is in the folder, now I'm curious. I'll get back.

BitDefender I am happy with it too. Bitdefender support and peoples are pretty good I suggest that You just suggest that they offer auto settings and technical full options too. Some have novice, intermediate, expert settings but I think full control, auto settings and full manual or something but if it could be catchy too…

@CatBurgler Firefox already scans all downloaded files for virus as standard, and Bitdefender scans them automatically too for an extra layer of security, you don't need to run a separate process like Quickscan.
