It mostly appears to work (to a not particularly tech-savvy person) but I can't launch Google Chrome. A few brief internet searches tell me that others experienced this with earlier versions of Bitdefender, but none of the…

But I am setting up my system from scratch with probably hundreds of programs and then BD 2019. So does that mean I have to set an exception for each of the *many* progs I am installing? Isn't…

I agree, but given that updates come through on average every hour, and will also be staged, that you'll get the latest…
  • @Del-UK You CAN have Antivirus only if that's what you want. I assume you're in the UK so check this out. https://www.bitdefender.co.uk/solutions

At idle with around 6 modules running in Task Manager, it was using around 500 mb. In contrast my Kaspersky 2019 runs only 2 modules in Task Manager, and at idle using only 85 mb and…

I mainly reported issues related to the vulnerability scan (the one mentioned in my previous post), the VPN and…

If I remember correctly they said they were going to fix it when the stable version was released. Given the very short beta testing period, a stable…

Not only that but the boot optimizer in BDS stopped working yesterday, and it's not the only time that BD options have stopped working. I don't…

  • I had been in the habit of running a manual update on boot up, but have stopped doing that as on poster suggested that might trigger a full database update, so I left it and BD updated itself about 11 minutes later. I'll leave doing manual updates until BD fix this issue.

Reinstalled BTS, and build number after reboot and update which took around 15 minutes is still 22.0.19.242 Maybe only some people are getting new build but slow update problem still there and no update from BD, as usual. Why do we…
  • I too, have uninstalled BTS from both my systems and have gone back to Kaspersky, which has never given me any issues. I had preferred BD because of its feature list especially ransomware protection, but KIS can also be configured for similar protection. If BD fix the long update problem, then I'll go back to using BTS,…

  • I wouldn't be surprised if a few users don't need that tool. I have a 2 year sub for Total Security, and every time I've installed it, it has been a complete disaster. Either various modules stop working or the whole thing crashes. I won't use an AV that's buggy, not tested adequately and one I can't rely on. No wonder…
  • My ongoing issue is that every time I've installed Bitdefender, I've had problems. This time with a clean install of BTS 2018, many functions including the Anti Virus just stopped working in my Win 10 computer. For me, BD is just not worth the hassles, so back to my other alternatives. BD is off my systems for good.
  • Hi,alokep. If this is the version you get when you do an update, then that is the latest version. Here is the changelog. /index.php?/topic/75881-latest-changelog/&do=embed">
  • I'm also running WIn 10 Creators V 15063.138 64 bit without issues. BD is working fine, and I have had no problems with BD services stopping. If a clean install of BD doesn't work and a restart after, it might be a case of going back to a previous Windows build or a clean Win 10 install.
  • Have you tried the Repair option for BD ? If that doesn't work, maybe uninstall using the BD Uninstall Tool to get a more complete uninstall, and then doing a fresh install.
  • Hi,fiddler2007. Answer to # 3 is no! Trust me when I say you don't need to fiddle with settings. Leave it on Autopilot, and read this review. http://www.digitalcitizen.life/security-everyone-reviewing-bitdefender-total-security-2016 The review is actually for the 2017 product, despite the link title ! I've used them all,…

  • Two options to contact Support https://www.bitdefender.com/support/chat-support.html or vial email https://www.bitdefender.com/support/consumer/ then you can raise a ticket if the other things you try don't work.
  • hi, CCV. Sorin G is the Tech Support person who helps here in the Forums. Often better to get help here, than from official Support ! been there, done that ! I'd be inclined to do an uninstall using the BitDefender Removal Tool, and then do a reinstall. http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall That at least, will give you a…
  • Me, neither. Maybe we've just surfed safely ? If you want to test BD, you can always download the Eicar test virus, from here. http://www.rexswain.com/eicar.html Don't worry, it's quite safe !
  • Hi, CCV. I'm not seeing that menu option. I'm running Total Security 2017. Maybe @Sorin G can help from Support ?
  • Hi, CCV. Just run a System Scan. Rootkit scan is included, and the last time I ran it, it took 17 minutes. 17 hours is not right. Have you restarted your system ?
