Nevermind. Scratch that. I had it disabled under tools>addons. It's working again.
-
The BD antiphishing toolbar isn't even being listed under FF 3.6.2's view>toolbars.
-
It didn't ask you for your key to confirm?
-
Thanks for posting that FF had been updated. Mine did not do it automatically like it should.
-
pvp, I never disagreed with anything that has been posted since Saturday. I had been saying all along that I didn't. I've never gotten the email yet myself though. EDIT: I take that back, I just got one.

Demoblaster, Win7 has a startup repair feature on the cd. I think there are a couple other repair options as well.
-
L.o.D im not interested in the lost files but the lost time. I have said this before. I have lost time and work opportunities because my virus software provides me virus. I think this should be compensated. Maybe so, but many are/were. Some lost irreplaceable photos etc. I am not denying that there should be some sort of…

How can i do that when i had about 5gig total space left on a cramped cpu(split on c and D drive)? You never said that at first. And why would i keep a drive that has most if not all other files in quarantine, how would that help me(seems other spent loads of time just bringing basic functions up with or without the…
-
I guess my first question is how do you change bit defender so it doesn't auto move things it's background scanner considers viruses to quarantine? beaten
-
Ok... Lets say that i would not have formatted my C:drive and instead kept it(which was impossible due to the fact that it was almost full). Then it would magically have worked again and that this somehow made me not have to reinstall anything and the files in quarantine would be back meaning all information was intact and…

Starting off with L.o.D Are you even reading peoples scenarios? I got the.. "virus", saw system32 and bitdefender in quarantine, shut bitdefender off. Waited till the morning(since i had important meetings in HK. In the afternoon i went on another computer started reading. Tried to install patches, asked on forum and…

The latest I have now after recent updates is 7.30911.

Bitsy was only one of the communication channels. This does not mean that we excluded the others. Should they not all be posted here though?
-
Why is it that the bitsy email address has not been mentioned here, other than from me twice? I searched the forums & cannot find it elsewhere. Not everyone knows about the twitter account.
-
"We have reached out to the customers and answered their requests," Is it a joke ?! There is NO request FORM anywhere ! You are supposed to email them at bitsy@bitdefender.com with compensation as the subject. This is from their twitter page but I can't find it elsewhere.

Can't hurt to checl, put look here to see if the folder is actually empty. x:\ProgramData\BitDefender\Desktop\Quarantine How many apps have the missing file error?
-
yes you are right. This BD boo boo does not cause data lost. That is not what I stated. I stated that a system restart will not cause data loss. texasghost, I had that issue once many years ago & it just fixed itself. One of windows oddities I guess.
-
texasghost, can you right click those icons & go to it's properties? If so, you should be able to find what apps they lead to. Maybe they do not exist & can be safely deleted.
-
L.o.D what you are completely failing to see the following: 1. The files that was lost was lost solely due to Bitdefender and Bitdefender support. I'm not the only customer who waited, and waited and read and tried to do everything possible to save my computer from trojan.bitdefender. When i finally got an answer they…
-
To the degree you get upset and want to blame others for downtime and data loss is to the degree you should learn enough about computer systems that you never have to worry about it ever again. I learned because I lost over 1000 family pictures and more than 20 videos of grand parents telling about their life 3 months…
-
Well, this was kinda fun hanging around this forum all night. I guess I'm on my own with this. Should I send the bill from Dell fee based support to you(cc) or your supervisor? Have you tried the rescue cd? http://www.bitdefender.com/site/KnowledgeBase/consumer/#638

laura mc, have you reinstalled Vista yet? If not, try to avoid doing a format or you will for sure lose all your work etc. With Vista, you can do clean install which will move the whole old install to a single folder labelled windows.old. It will have all your genealogy work within that & anything else you may hold dear.…

I feel things are getting a bit out of hand, we are blaming each other when the blame is firmly with Bit Defender. No one has ever denied that. For the record, I didn't have BD set to autodelete but when it came up with all those corrupt files and things stopped working I chose, rightly or wrongly to switch off. I then…
-
pvp, newbies will use default settings. They won't go into advanced settings to change things when they have no idea what they do etc. Having files go to quarantine is a default setting. I questioned why people were changing that setting to delete & then you stated it was not the users responsibility when changing that…
-
at L.o.D direct your questions to a particular user. Are you asking me? Enabling which settings? The settings to auto delete files without even trying to clean said files. People had that on & wondered why files were getting deleted & then claim they are not responsible for turning it on to begin with. I feel sorry for…
-
And yet again, you failed to answer any of the questions & just point fingers. Like I said, I have to assume somethings since you refuse to answer simple questions like you are scared to. You also failed to see that I have never stated that BD was not responsible for this fiasco, just so you could continue to bash others.…
-
If a complete newbie buys a system & installs BD on it, HE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY CLUE ABOUT THE ADVANCED FEATURES & NOT TURN THEM ON IN THE FIRST PLACE. So that logic of yours is flawed. BTW, I have to go to assumptions due to people NOT answering how they are losing data or why they have no backups, ESPECIALLY when working…
-
Ya a clean install which leads to countless hours doing things other than making money or real things that you should be doing over this MISTAKE. Not only that but lost time peeps needed to be on their comps for business/school or whatever might be the case. This should have been VERY easily recognizable had they tested it…

If using a router, just set emule under port range forwarding. Then it should only allow traffic through the ports you set.
-
Yes everything is nice and clean. Maybe try uninstalling it, deleting any left over files then reinstall. Also make sure that WLM has full net access.
