  • So BD TS 2019 is buggy ? Ok I'll go through the steps to install 2020. I had nothing better to do today.
  • Ok I think I see what's happening. The auto update is set to 1 Hour (Auto Update and Silent Update are both Ticked ON). That system auto updated an hour after booting but it still has the same 06-06-09 product date. . So if I were to have used that system to surf the net or download files I would have had 3 day old…
  • I notice the last product update was 06-06-19 even though the engine update is 09-07-19. Why would the product not update since then if it's been manually updated many many times since then ? The product version of the other system I still have BD TS installed on shows a product update of 09-06-19.
  • Here you go. That system has still not auto updated this morning after 30 minutes.
  • Here's another issue. This screenshot was taken on August 20th. Notice the last update was on August 14, six days earlier (I don't always boot all my computers every day, sometimes it's several days in between). Notice that 39 minutes later BD TS had not auto updated itself even though the malware definitions are 6 days…
  • I updated a second system and it too became unresponsive. I'll leave BD TS on that system for the time being.
  • I see Bitdefender's Forum support hasn't improved.
  • Citation ?
  • My Norton subscription is about to run out so I thought I'd come back and see if Bitdefender Support has gotten any better. Obviously it has not.
  • Hey Marius, No more reports of long update times ? Where is the response to this post from your "support" personnel ?
  • I would contact them through their Facebook Page. That's what worked for me.
  • That's pathetic. I first reported it back in January I believe and we're nearing the end of April. Oh well they'll just keep losing customers and the sad part is they don't even care. Buggy products, poor support.
  • I came back to see if the issue with ridiculously long update times has been fixed. Looks like maybe ? Oh well I've got 351 days left on my license of another security suite so maybe in a year Bitdefender will get their act together ( and get a real support team). If not I'll just keep giving my money to someone…
  • Deleting posts again Sergiu ? Anyway I've only got one more computer to disinfect from BD TS 2018 then I'm free of this mess. To their credit I have been offered a refund. Oh and when I tried to leave feedback when downloading the BD Uninstall Tool I got this. Absolutely pathetic.
  • Sorry but I'm not going to boot into Safe Mode and do all those other steps just because your team can't reproduce an issue that has happened here on multiple occasions on three different systems running on two different Operating Systems. You need to get a new team. You can start by replacing your "Quality Assurance…
  • You can disable the Ads in options. At least in BD Total Security 2018 you can.
  • 16 hours ago, Sergiu C. said: Hello, Regarding the issue with update times: we've managed to reproduce the issue internally which should speed up the development of a fix. Regarding the issue with the security widget: we are investigating this. Regarding the issue with Windows 7 reporting that Bitdefender is turned off:…
  • Well I guess that's some good news and the communication is nice to see. At least they have managed to reproduce the issue. I'll remain cautiously optimistic but I got this on my Win 7 machine during a 10 minute update. Not sure what's going on but it could help explain the long update times........
  • I already did a clean reinstall on the system shown above after the broken update that was delivered to some users about a month ago or so. That thread has conveniently been deleted and so have my posts. The Widget bug has happened on every system I've had TS 2018 installed on two different Operating Sytems. If I uninstall…
  • AND this issue....AGAIN which has also been reported before.. Windows 7 not seeing Bitdefender on boot up:
  • Ok after update times of 9 minutes 45 seconds and 10:57 AND this bug again which I have reported multiple times: ( Since it seems like BD doesn't use their own software I'll explain it...again. You can see the update is in progress because it says UPDATE IN PROGRESS on the main interface yet the Security Widget does not…
  • 10 hours ago, Fenderman1 said: Marc, I hope you don't have two active AV programs running at the same time ? IE--- BD and McAfee ? If so, you should uninstall one as you should only ever have one active AV as there can be problems with compatibility with each trying to detect malware simultaneously. No of course I'm not…
  • Updated my second system and got a 13 minute 40 second update time. No reboot required. Much longer than the times that caused me to complain in the first place. So it's obvious the only solution is to search for another security suite that can be trusted and isn't a system hog. Bitdefender will not get one more penny from…
  • So a case of Bitdefender saying "It's Not a Problem, no need to worry" then "Let's slip a fix in and hope no one notices" ? How can anyone trust a company like this ? *Sigh* I've lost faith in BD after being one of their most loyal customers for many years. When you upset your best fans you've done something wrong. I'd…
  • I updated one system this morning after it got the update last night that required the reboot (no reboot required this morning) and it took 12 minutes 21 seconds. Even longer than recent updates. So we're going backwards. I'll boot the other system that has TS 2018 installed and report it's update time later. This system…

  • No email for me at least not yet. I could swear that I've had version 22.0.19.242 for awhile. I seem to remember posting that number somewhere in a support ticket or here. Too lazy to look right now. Anyway my studio computer had an 8:56 update this morning which is almost two minutes faster but still a bit too long. If…
  • News flash ! I just got a 5 minute 45 second update on one system after getting a 6:45 update on the other system this morning. This system is still running McAfee which updates in less than two minutes. It is Sunday which means few businesses and perhaps fewer users are updating today which means less demand on bandwidth.…
  • The only way you can get a response from "support" is to insult them either here, in a ticket, or on Facebook. Or threaten to contact the owner of the company. The latest response I got about "the number of people reporting the issue seems to grow smaller, since we eventually find out that their issues were misdiagnosed"…
  • Response from Support: "We are aware of the Event Viewer messages, however these are just reporting issues, and are not correlated with an actual issue".
