I had THE EXACT same problem, installing BD TS on my mothers computer. I had to do the steps Mihaela Masaru suggested. That's not something any normal person can do who just uses a computer because they need it and want to feel safe. Thankfully, for me it worked and my mom is once again safe.

@Phrea, TheNit & BlackWidow: We have sent you an email a couple of minutes ago. Please be so kind as to reply to our email and let us know if you accept our offer. Thank you, I gracefully accept your offer.

Phrea, they gave me a year instead. That is because you are an effing kiss ***, sorry to say but you **** the ###### out of me. You really should stop posting, you got a full extra year, that's enough. I had to rescue 2 other pc's which were in BIG [!!] trouble, and it took me a ****load of time to get them fixed.

6 months doesn't seem fair for a LOT of users... I got that email too, not responding until they come up with a better offer.

With all do respect, but I am NOT going to e-mail my license key just like that. There has to be some form of validation, call me paranoid, but then again, you gave us a _good_ reason to be paranoid, didn't you. I cant edit above post anymore, so a second post: Besides our license keys, you are asking us to provide a lot…

I don't think that a specific email format was required initially. However, from the perspective of identifying the customer it is better to provide as much information as possible: for instance where you purchased from, email address, license key, the regular process. With all do respect, but I am NOT going to e-mail my…

its asking me to pick a date to restore from. I assume just spend the $40 and not have to deal with this anymore. See my EDIT, do what bigchess is suggesting. Restoring your machine should be considered as a last resort, just to get your machine up and running again. Nobody should EVER reinstall without backing up their…

I don't think mine came with any, its a gateway, so maybe they don't give u the software? The software is most likely on a hidden partition on your computer, you can access it during bootup. The thing is, that'll most likely only give you the option to restore your complete computer. EDIT: bigchess has experience with this…

Hi DanyDan, Hang in there. You're doing a great job. Unfortunately the system backup was not enabled when (for the 1st time in 20 years) I bought a PC instead of building it. All I can do is a complete re-installation which will nuke everything. cheers Tom You can always use a Linux Live CD [Knoppix, SRCD, there are loads…

Never said you did. I asked IF that was what you were saying. L.o.D., you trying to tell me that no chickens exists for Windows etc? You'd be a fool if you were. Enough with this O.T. stuff already, if you want to discuss *nix safety, and Linux/Ubuntu safety in particular, I suggest you check out the Ubuntu forums, or just…

Phrea, you trying to tell me that no malware exists for *nix etc? You'd be a fool if you were. That's funny, I don't remember saying that.

Just like MACs are right? Hackers don't waste their time with them because there is no point. Not because it's secure. The only reason why they go after windows is because it's used on a VERY large scale compared to MACs etc. darknothing, if you have a flash drive, copy the contents of the cd to that. We're getting…

And Ubuntu is 100% secure with no chance of a threat? I'd say it's fairly to very secure.

Well, you're not too bright to be bragging about it in the forums, infidel. Very likely to be a [very funny] troll.

My dear fellow Bitdefender users, Could we be a little matur.e about this? Some people have suffered more than others and there should be a good compensation. Bitdefender will (I guess) make everyone (most of us) happy (I hope). I lost 14 hours myself of figuring out, checking 15 PC's and repair. Situation before…

"Due to a recent update for Windows 64-bit systems it is possible that BitDefender detects several Windows and BitDefender files as infected with Trojan.FakeAlert.5 ." Nicely worded... http://www.bitdefender.com/site/KnowledgeBase/consumer/#639

Carmen, I need to know if my engine 7.30848 is the safe one, or should I wait for the patch? My windows is ok, I disabled the real time scan before it could damage my computer. The faulty update has been pulled off the servers some time ago already, you can update, the engine you are using is fine.

Vista 64 / BD TS 2010. Don't know the precise version of my BD TS, because, obviously, it isn't working at this point. Update: Vista 64bits and up to date BD TS 2010 version 13.0.19 Engine version 7.30848 [luckily for me, I solved my problem, and it's up and running again] Devvers: remember, check your work twice !
