Hi @I reinstalled BDIS & reconfigured the scan schedules. None of them ran & BDIS is deleting the scan schedules from its interface. This is exactly the same as the issue that I originally reported in my opening post.
-
Try uninstalling/re-installing as I did.
-
It seems to be checking hourly now since re-installing it.
-
I have uninstalled & re-installed it & will see how it goes.
-
That's what I was trying to ascertain, if I need to reboot the PC to take account of the selected rule, that is fine.
-
Thanks for that, it was what I was doing, but I then found out that as I wanted to block the incoming port, what I was doing wrong was that I had not set the "Permission" to off. Perhaps in a future release it would be more intuitive to replace this switch will an Allow/Block dropdown box? One quick related question…
-
That might be because BD 2020 has an inbuilt Anti Tracker, that is the case at least with the BDIS variant.
-
I assume this is in the inbound direction as it says using it as a server is blocked, if so simply add a rule for it. If your PC is behind a router then you would also need to add some NAT (port forwarding).
-
That's fine, but to save more queries on this subject, please can you delete it from your user manual for the 2020 version, as that still shows it being in the 2020 version.
-
I currently have Windows Defender disabled via the registry, do I need to re-enable it to get this protection then?
-
Thanks, I realise that, but what I want to be able to do, is to do a scan on a Fridays & then repeat it once every four weeks (although my screenshot doesn't actually show it). I used to be able to do that with the previous builds, but I can't now.
-
Further information, the Home Scanner build number is 1.0.5.108
-
Thanks very much Dan.

Assuming that you want to allow a particular port, rather than an application into your PC, I would set it up like this. The example I am using is allowing TCP port 80 through in an inbound direction only:- The custom local IP address will be the IP address of your PC:-

Thanks. What I did, in the end, was to export the new one, then delete it from the BD interface. Then deleted all files in that folder whilst in safe mode. Now all is OK.
-
I have just had a look at this in Safe Mode, it would seem that there are three files per wallet, but which ones relate to the wallet that is not active?
-
Thanks, I'll do that.
-
No, the 3 dots is not there for the inactive wallet, which is the one I want to delete.:-

I don't know about the insider, but I am using the Fall Creators Update (V1709). I stopped WD from running permanently (via the registry) & then I uninstalled & re-installed BDIS. So far so good.
-
I also got this too, but came to the conclusion that maybe Windows Defender is clashing with BDIS. I stopped WD from running permanently (via the registry) & then I uninstalled & re-installed BDIS. So far so good.

Yes. Go to Privacy > View Features > Firewall Click on the settings icon just below this. Use "Add Rule", Browse to the exe of the app & set the permission to Deny and the direction to Bothways.
