Do you have any special display settings? Such as a customized DPI setting? Did this problem appear recently (after some changes to your system), or it was like this always (since you first installed BitDefender)? As a sidenote: I also run Windows 7 Pro x64 and BitDefender Total Security and everything worked fine (and…

If you read the big thread carefully. They didnt actually test the update. And still where asking people hours later what OS they were running? So even after they knew about there bad update they themselves still didnt run it it seems. There times of when they released the patch is a few hours off. 11.30 AM PST no, more…

Didn't know that not having BD come to your door with an apology letter on a silver platter and having someone give you a foot massage while getting someone else to fix your computer was atrocious. They were doing the best they could while trying to deal with the panic and hundreds of complaints they were getting. I think…

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/917...mp;pageNumber=1 "Vitor Souza, BitDefender's global marketing director, said that is what the company is trying to do. "We're really looking for a solution," he said in an interview today when asked whether BitDefender would compensate affected users, and if so, how. "Each case…

Oh and to add insult to injury. Bullguard members who were affected all have got 6 months free. This would only possible if BD allowed this as I doubt Bullguard would carry the bill on this one. Yet what do we get as being customers of the actual BD software directly? Nothing. Not even a response. (BitDefender BitDefender…

@BitDefender: What is the situation in regard to compensation? Your support rating on on websites is slowly lowering. http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/298...ivirus_v10.html Cast your vote now.

Hi all from New Zealand..... Firstly I thank the Bitdefender Team for getting me out of bed at 4am Sunday morning to answer a telephone call advising me of the issues that I may face with my clients.... I have been an agent in NZ for BitDefender for approx 4 years with NO major issues. The phone call confirms to me that…
-
@BitDefender Staff What now? What compensation schemes are in the works? People have given there ideas and now its your turn to throw the ball.
-
L.o.D. are you an employee or affliated with BitDefender in any way? Beyond that of just using there software?
-
TheBigPJ, I am just curious as to how many computers you are running that you are not capable of maintaining in any way? That is how you come off with calling an IT guy at 2AM. I did not call an 'IT guy' at 2am - it was much, much earlier on. (That was sarcism towards that rude person) I have always told my family members…

Just watching the tweets and waiting like everyone else. http://twitter.com/bitdefender FWIW, ...I still can't get BD back online and working, and just about every program that came with W7 can't be found, and the shortcuts are all dead, plus a lot of other things. I have the Win 7 discs sitting here waiting to see if I…

It was so long ago on the first incident that I dont think anyone did, though I do not remember. The second incident no one did to the best of my knowledge. I can literally if my system gets fubar'd have it back up in a few hours at most. Usually just waiting for stuff to install. I see. In your case you haven't lost…

Some of you probably have seen this kind of thing before. However, for some this is probably the first time you have experienced something like this. You won't get compensated. I used to see similar situations that people would run into, when I worked at a computer store. A customer would come in with a system that was…

I too have been using BitDefender for over 3 years. I have never had an issue with it. From the posts I have seen some have had some major issues. I am not 100% sure but this glitch only effected Windows 7 & Vista 64 bit machines. Since I have not heard the contrary I dissabled it on my 32 bit Vista too. Can someone verify…

I have to disagree. A failed ISP is just as expected as a failed detection of a virus or making a false positive. But maybe not for everyone, what can I say... This isn't the first time an antivirus has made a bit of a mess, but surely this is the first time for BD. Maybe this kind of fails would be more expected, if BD…

This will hurt a bit. You forgot about this part : "NONE of Virgin Media Ltd, Virgin Media Entertainment and Virgin Media Payments will be liable to you for: a.any indirect loss or any loss which is not a reasonably foreseeable consequence..." I read that to mean: NONE of company xyz are liable because of indirect loss or…
-
If your ISP fails and you cannot work that day, can you claim compensation for the profit you might have done working? In almost all cases, no. It's provided in the agreement. I hate posting against you again. But you can :s Virgin Media for example http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/legal...le/terms.html#n "a.any…

So its fine that they all abuse BD staff, but when someone defends BD its classed as rude? so be it then. Yes I highly doubt he called support at 2am in the morning, that is if his clock is right. Yes I called them at 2am. Lets not mention the fact Ive been posting since 8:21pm. If you want to be rude I can be too. Learn…

I highly doubt you paid for a tech to rush to your house to fix a virus, not hard to make a false receipt either, how long was this problem live for? I dont know that question as this error happened when most people in my country would be asleep, then waking up to a fixed error, that most wouldnt have experienced through…
-
typical society of mindless people, mistakes happen, it was easy to fix, get over it. If you dont like it, dump bitdefender, and go buy Norton and see how many more issues you will have. If you read the terms of service, you will understand that things like this are covered, as you allready agreed to it, wait you didnt…
-
I doubt your attitude to this situation would be the same if you like me had to pay to get this problem fixed. Which I think many more people may have to do aswell. It can be seen that they did not test this update. A mandatory stage of ANY release of software fix/patch/update whatever you want to call it. Is my…

Most people just got files in the quarantine. On Windows 64-bit. From BD 64-bit. During a few hours of a weekend day. When most of them were not even at work. BD updates, stops detecting false positives. People restore files from the quarantine - problem solved. I've had it, too. Back to normal, no fuss. What damage? What…

All other posts on the matter have been closed. So now the plan for BitDefender is to send all people googling searching to this big thread - where alot of people have posted all sorts of information. And now your plan as admin's is to hope people jump to the end where they will see admin's have replied? A real good joke.

For the not-so-lucky ones, panicing is now the best choice right now. Your files are NOT lost, even if you can't boot your system. The worst choice would be to reformat your entire system, as you would lose your files this way. Please be patient until BD resease a patch. If they don't, you should call an expert to…

I ran system restore twice back to the 17th. The first attempt didn't work, well it appeared to at least but gave the same message about KBDUK.DLL being corrupt afterwards. After a re-boot Windows informed me the restore didn't work for some such reason I forget. Tried again in safe mode however and that has indeed worked.…

This is all good giving communication now...on facebook/twitter... OH WAIT IT ISNT! In the last 2 hours is when all this activity kicked up over facebook/twitter. THe problem was known many, many hours before that. Dont believe me? Check the first post in this thread compare that against the first post regarding this issue…

I have had to pay my local IT company to fix this for me. So where/how do I make a claim for compensation?
