Refund received. Over and out. Alex.

I just realised, no vsserv.exe issues this evening. Then I remembered I had disabled Automatic Update, Antispam, Antiphishing and File Encryption. I wonder if this problem is in fact the same one that's known to cause internet browser lag, when Antiphishing is enabled?

Question: when your internet browser freezes, are there any processes (look in Task Manager) that are using excessive CPU? There is another known BD2010 problem of vsserv.exe hogging up to 100% CPU, and I was wondering if these two apparently different issues are in fact the same? I have been suffering the vsserv.exe issue…

Can I suggest that you read this thread that already covers this issue? Vsserv.exe Taking Up 100% Of Cpu You may want to post there rather than starting a new thread. Alex.

I just sent this. I urge the rest of you to do the same. Alex. Dear Aurelian, I am totally hacked off with this situation now. I sent a new log file via email (see below) two weeks ago, and have had no response. vsserv.exe is still hogging my CPU, with resulting freezing. I think I have been quite patient up to now, but…

Update #4. Last time BD "Support" replied to this thread was Feb 8th, almost a month ago. Last email from them was Feb 17th, which I replied to on Feb 19th. I, like other users, am totally hacked off with this now and will be requesting a full refund immediately. They've had long enough to sort this out, and maintaining…

IS THERE ANY FIX??? Does anyone here care??? Did you already follow the instructions on page 3 of this thread? If not, then it's a bit early for excessive use of punctuation marks IMHO.

Update 3: vsserv.exe just locked up my laptop for a minute or two, reaching around 100% CPU usage. Another trace log is on its way to BD Customer Service. Alex.
-
Update 2: My laptop locked up again this morning, while the BD update service was updating/installing: livesrv.exe hit 70% CPU usage during this update operation; vsserv.exe appeared to be using low CPU, although since making the configuration changes suggested by BD, I have seen it reach 40% CPU usage. I had a follow-up…

Update: I've had the laptop running for four hours this evening after reconfiguring BD as suggested, and so far so good: not a hint of any locking up, and vsserv.exe is using very little CPU. I'll contact BD Customer Services to let them know, and to find out what will happen next. Alex.

I have received an emailed response from BD customer service; I won't post it here (yet) in case their suggested course of action doesn't work. But I can say this: After analysing my vsserv.exe log file, BD have suggested disabling certain features of the application. I don't know yet whether this is merely to isolate the…

Paul, Sorry if I confused you. I thought that livesrv belonged to the Windows Live application, but livesrv appears in my other PC's list of processes in Task Manager (Windows Live is not installed on this other PC), so I guess I was mistaken.
-
Aurelian: PM sent. Paul, Is livesrv Windows Live? I just installed it I think, and livesrv in TaskManager. I'm going to uninstalll it now.

I too have been experiencing vsserv.exe hogging up to 100% CPU, but have just performed the following operations: 1. Created a vsserv.exe log, as per Aurelian's instructions; 2. Uninstalled Malwarebytes, that I had forgotton I had installed; 3. Turned off Rapport, Alliance and Leicester's own privacy protection software.…
