Thanks for the suggestions.....I will re-install Bitdefender and try the above options now that I know where to look.......thanks again I have tried Bitdefender 2013 again.....I have either got the settings wrong or 2013 does not work properly.....anyway I have gone back to 2012 and everything is good again....thanks anyway

Bitdefender don't have any feature to block removable media like Eset offers. There are only two settings related to removable media 1) Antivirus > Vulnerability > Media Auto Run (ON or OFF) 2) Antivirus > Exclusions > Scan USB Devices (Auto Scan, Disabled, Ask Every Time) But Bitdefender does block automatic opening…
